Kettering Fairmont D-1 District Rankings (Off Season #2)

Iíve started moving wrestlers around from the weights that they wrestled last year. Some of the weight shifts are based off of where the wrestlers have been competing in the off-season, some is based off of people sending me line-ups. Some of the changes are based off of how the wrestlers have grown over the last few years. A lot of the movement is pure guesswork.
I welcome any insight into where wrestlers will or may be competing next season, because I know that Iím going to be way off on many wrestlers, especially this time of year.

I paired the freshmen with the school that they were listed at on the Yappi thread about middle school state placers. If there was more than one possible school listed, I took a guess.
If there are any freshmen listed at the wrong school, feel free to let me know. Also, if there are any other wrestlers who have transferred, decided not to wrestle next year, or graduated (but I mistakenly left them in the rankings), please let me know.

I love doing these rankings, but as it has been pointed out before, they are just for fun. To any wrestlers who read these and feel that they are ranked too low, you may be right.
I am bound to be wrong on many of the rankings, but fortunately they have absolutely no impact on how anyone will finish at any tournament this season or any other year.

* = unsure about participation or availability

1. Cole Skinner- LaSalle
2. Dominic DiTullio- Mason (SQ)
3. Nolan Moore- Moeller
4. Jacob Cotsonas- Loveland
5. Tyree Hyman- Middletown
6. Kaileigh Nuessgen- Beavercreek
7. Ryan Walker- West Clermont
8. Quinton Harris-Baird- Northwest

Skinner has wrestled at this weight during the off-season. Iím guessing that DiTullio will wrestle here where he wrestled at times last season, though he may wind up at 120 if heís hit a growth spurt.

1. Dustin Norris- LaSalle (2nd state)
2. Pacey Najdusak- Mason (7th state)
3. William Doepker- Elder (8th state)
4. Lucas Acuna- Centerville (3rd middle school state)
5. Matt Motter- Butler
6. Jake Vayo-Smith- Sycamore (5th district)
7. Andrew Newkirk- Fairfield
8. Owen Bingamon- Western Brown

Norris and Acuna both wrestled at this weight during the freestyle season.

1. Lucas Byrd- LaSalle (1st, 3rd, 7th state)
2. Moustapaha Bal- Fairfield (6th state)
3. Christian Chavez- Lakota E. (6th district)
4. Josh Suddeth- Butler (6th district, SQ 2016)
5. Collin Lovett- Miamisburg
6. Kyah Patrick- Beavercreek (5th district 2017)
7. Josue Dawson- Princeton
8. Brock Gibson- Mason

Byrd wrestled at this weight during the freestyle season, including the Junior duals. Bal, Chavez, and Suddeth were all at 126 at one point or another in the off-season, so they may wind up at that weight.

1. Antoine Allen- LaSalle (5th state)
2. Jabari Thomas- Fairfield (7th, 8th state)
3. Bailey Suddeth- Butler (5th district, 6th district 2016)
4. Dante DiTullio- Mason
5. Max Boaz- Lakota E. (SQ)
6. Cole McGuire- Miamisburg (6th district 2017)
7. RamaKrishna Gandhi- Moeller
8. Izumi Harney- Sycamore

I was told that Boaz has moved to Lakota East. Itís possible that he and Chavez flip weights.

1. Jordan Ward- Moeller (6th, 7th state)
2. Casey Wiles- LaSalle (3rd state)
3. Jack Collins- Elder (SQ)
4. Cameron Baird- Harrison (SQ)
5. Luke Marsh- Lebanon (1st middle school state)
6. Matt Verdes- Butler
7. Tyler Bemrose- Xenia*
8. David Hasty- Stebbins*

Ward wrestled 132 at an off-season event (with a weight allowance), while Baird has been as high as high as 145.

1. Micah Norwood- LaSalle (SQ)
2. Sam Glassco- Mason (5th district, SQ 2016)
3. Logan Hoskins- Butler (SQ)
4. Seth Lambers- Elder*
5. Hunter Barge- Harrison (6th district 2017)
6. Kobey Bronaugh- Milford (6th district, 5th district 2016)
7. Tanner Donatahan- Western Brown (SQ 2017)
8. Cyle Wells- Tecumseh

These middle weights look like they will be absolutely loaded at Fairmont, as we see at this weight with 4 former state qualifiers an two other district placers.
Hoskins may drop in weight once the regular season starts, though teammates Verdes, Josh Suddeth, and Bailey Suddeth will all have to find spots in the line-up.

1. Mason Kleinberg- Springboro (SQ)
2. Darnai Heard- LaSalle (SQ)
3. Jacob Bernhardt- Harrison (SQ)
4. Andrew Knick- Northmont (SQ)
5. Kurt Thompson- Moeller (5th middle school state)
6. D.J. Melillo- Elder
7. Alex Espstein- Lakota E.
8. Aundre Zornes- Middletown

Kleinberg has wrestled at this weight during the off-season while Bernhardt has been spotted up at 152.

1. Christopher Donathan- Mason (2nd state)
2. Eílan Heard- LaSalle (SQ)
3. Ryan Whitten- Stebbins
4. Austin Mullins- Wayne (7th state)
5. Gavin Bell- Beavercreek (SQ)
6. Matt Lewis- West Clermont
7. Judah Thomas- Middletown
8. Caleb Tackett- Lebanon

If this weight shakes down like this, 152 will be the best weight in the district, at least at the top. One nationally ranked state finalist, Ironman placer Heard, state placer Mullins, state qualifier Bell, and an ever improving Whitten. Scary.
Whitten has been wrestling 152 (in the results that I have found) during the off-season.

1. Nevan Snodgrass- Kettering Fairmont (4th, 4th state)
2. Brett McIntosh- Harrison
3. Drew Wiechers- Centerville (6th state)
4. Amar Thomas- Fairfield (SQ)
5. Derek Spears- Western Brown (5th district 2017, SQ 2016)
6. Ethan Marsh- Lebanon
7. Mason Motter- Butler
8. Shane Shoop- Troy

Snodgrass wrestled 160 at the junior freestyle duals after wrestling 170 at the state freestyle tournament. Wiechers and Thomas have also been at this weight during the off-season.

1. Jestin Love- Butler (SQ)
2. Kamal Adewumi- Mason (5th district)
3. Jaden Hardrick- Wayne
4. Sean Mondello- Talawanda (SQ 2017)
5. Jacob Stamcoff- Springboro (6th district)
6. Jayden Schmidt- Centerville
7. Alec Hall- Tecumseh
8. Noah Mirick- W. Clermont

Adewumi, Love, and Mondello wrestled at this weight during the off-season.

1. Trey Sizemore- LaSalle (7th state)
2. Simon Shirley- Harrison (SQ)
3. Sebastian Beachler- Miamisburg (SQ)
4. Jacob Kowalski- Springboro (5th district)
5. Austin Belcher- Elder
6. Toby Amburgy- Mason
7. Tommy Rowe- Tecumseh
8. John Hammond- Beavercreek

Iím not sure if Sizemore will cut down once the season starts, but heís been wrestling 182 during the freestyle season, including the Junior Duals where he was part of the national championship team.

1. Michael Baker- LaSalle (6th state)
2. Nick Coyle- Butler (SQ)
3. Max Boyle- Harrison (6th district)
4. Tom Feldman- Elder
5. Dylan Mosher- Western Brown (6th district)
6. Colton Quantz- Lebanon
7. Elijah Woodruff- Kettering Fairmont
8. Austin Stevenson- Beavercreek

Baker has wrestled as high as 220 during the off-season, so presumably, heíll be a sizable 195 this season as he seeks out a state title.

1. Garrett Bledsoe- LaSalle (SQ, 8th state 2017)
2. Bryan Heyward- Northmont (5th district)
3. Joe Wahl- West Clermont
4. Ben Blevins- Little Miami (6th district)
5. Bradley Smith- Beavercreek
6. Jaeden Crowe- Kettering Fairmont
7. Ivan Pace- Colerain
8. Gavin Murphy- Fairborn

Blevins and Smith have both wrestled at this weight during the off-season.

1. Jacob Padilla- Wayne (8th state)
2. Paul Haywood- Centerville (2x 1st middle school state)
3. Jon Hardin- Miamisburg (6th district 2017)
4. Robert Brown- LaSalle (5th district)
5. Peyton Bartley- Xenia
6. Brogan Reed- Mason
7. Kevin Stone- Anderson
8. Greg Asher- Tecumseh

I assumed that Haywood would be at this weight, though Centerville has Goetz, who finish a match away from the state tournament at 285 last year. Haywood wrestled 209 at the middle school state tournament as a 7th grader back in 2017, though Iím not sure if he (or Goetz) can make 220.

1. LaSalle
2. Mason
3. Butler
4. Harrison
5. Elder
6. Fairfield
7. Moeller
8. Centerville

LaSalle has the potential to be insanely good this year, and I just hope everyone can stay healthy for the post season so that we can get an awesome state title chase in D-1.
They look like the prohibitive state title favorites with the additions of Skinner, Norwood, as well as middle school state placers Stein and Harden.
However, it sounds like Edís may add another big piece, which will make the team chase all the more intriguing.

A special thanks to Boro Fan for all the insight into the weights of the wrestlers, Baumís Page and Jakeís Wrestling for all of the results that they provide, and to any of the other wrestling nerds that actually read these things.
