Justin Wright 10.57 at Massillon D3 regional

I tend to focus primarily on D1 results but am usually interested in the other divisions as well In checking last night's results from around the state, I noticed Wellsville's Justin Wright's 10.57 (+0.2 m/s) in the 100 prelims. He's a junior and only .02 off of tying the state D3 record. He won his heat by .64. He also went 21.70 to get the fastest time in the 200 prelim. A pretty good evening for him.

He broke the district record twice last week, 1st in the preliminaries then lowered it in the district finals.
The guy who has the current D3 record (Chad Zallow) has made NCAA D 1 finals in the 110 hurdles. I fully expect Wright to break the record tomorrow. If not tomorrow, then next week
Built more like a strong safety or smaller linebacker

I haven't looked at the forecast, but the biggest threat to not breaking the record would be a tailwind over the maximum allowable since Perry's frontstretch runs from west to east.

What's crazy isn't there a kid from across the river in the same area, but at a West Virginia school, who also is running similar times?

Edit: see it is a kid, Sebastian Smith, from Weirton who went 10.65 and 21.61 to win the WVA AA titles. Surprised him and Wright didn't end up at Steubenville

Looks like light winds tonight, possibly a crosswind or even slightly into the runners.
