17-18 Indiana Hoosier Basketball

Normally not alot of traffic for an IU basketball thread, but since Archie Miller is now the coach, may be able to pick up some followers.

The Hoosiers are of to a slow start, kinda understanding with 3 players last year to the NBA, and 5 the last two years if you include Yogi Farrell and Troy Williams.

So what are your thoughts on the Hoosiers? They have Robert Johnson, Juwan Morgan, D'Ron Davis, Josh Newkirk and Colin Hartman back from a team that really underachieved last season, and it cost Tom Crean his job for the inpatient Hoosier faithful.
The fan base got a shock right out of the gate with a home drubbing by in state opponent Indiana State. Those types of games will turn the folks against Archie quicker than you can say James Blackmon Jr.
They were somewhat respectable against a ranked Seton Hall team. A couple more cupcakes before Duke comes to Assembly Hall next week.
The Hoosiers will more than likely be in that middle third of the big ten this year, if all goes well. You can just see already this team is going to have some deficiencies in size and depth. Archie's teams tend to get better as the season progresses, let's hope this Hoosier team does that.
Any thoughts?

Severely under equipped to expect them to have a good season for IU standards. I wouldn't be surprised to see them miss the tourney. If Archie gets them there that would be a pretty good coaching job

NIT at best. Watched part of their game against a bad South Florida team and they were not impressive in the least bit.

Ohio just played Indiana State at a tournament in Charleston. ISU looked decent but I'm surprised they hung it on the Hooisers in the opener at Assembly Hall. Decent tournament field but they were winless in Charleston.
