Steubenville didnít even make it past the second round in DIV last year. Kenston tore through everybody they played in DIII.

Last year was last year. They got beat by a pretty good team too. Kenston lost a game to chardon last season. Not unbeatable. And now I will troll you relentlessly when they lose this season.

I know. People on yappi act like one division to the next is like crossing some vast chasm of athletic ability. Last year DIV was stacked, now a lot of those good teams moved up to DIII, to go along with the teams that were already there. I'm sure Stuebenville will handle the move just fine. I'm also not sure Kenston would of run through DIV last year. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

D4 has been anything but “stacked” for the past 3 years. Last year it was pound for pound the 2nd thinnest division in the state. Pretty silly claim there.

That said, steubie will obviously be competitive in D3...they just won’t automatically be in the title conversation every year.

Pound for pound the second thinnest in the state. How did you come to that conclusion?

Division III had 15 top 100 teams and 41 top 200 teams in the state, while Division IV only had 8 and 24, respectively. Division IV is top heavy, itís best could compete with the best of Division III, but so could some of the MAC so thatís not saying anything. Compared to the depth of Division III, Division IV is thin. Thatís what that guy is trying to say.

Steubenville has made it past the second round in 10 of the past 14 years. Theyíve also won 2 state titles in D3 during that time. Theyíve teetered right on the D3/D4 line for years now. Am I saying that theyíre going to win state next year? No. Am I saying that theyíre better than Kenston? No. Iím saying that itís very silly to write them off just because they went 10-2 and lost in the second round last year. Yes, theyíll be a small D3 team enrollment wise, but they 1 platoon just about 90% of their starting 22. Also they have over 60 kids out for football in grades 10-12. Depth isnít much of a concern.

I have no dog in the fight, but i think even the Big Red fans would agree a close comparison to their program the last 5 Years would be Bishop Hartley.

In 2014 Hartley was D5 Lost in State Semi's to eventual runner up Canton Central Catholic
In 2015 Hartley was in D4 Beat Steubenville in State Finals
In 2016 See 2015
In 2017 Hartley was in D3 was #3 seed in their Region lost in Regional Finals
In 2018 Hartley again in D3 was #1 seed in their Region lost in 2nd Round

So in D5 and D4 3 years running made State Semi's at least and Won 2 Championships
In D3 last 2 years haven't made it out of their Region despite a #1 and #3 seed.
Yes they are extremely competitive in D3 and very talented , but its just not a given they are State Title contender every year.
D3 is a different animal from 4 and 5 and anyone who closely follows Ohio High School Football knows the last 4-5 years the Top 3-4 Teams in D3 could and have competed with the top teams in the State regardless of Division.
Depth over a 15 game schedule in D3 is much different than in 4 and 5 not always front line talent although there is plenty of that at this level.
Just my 2 cents.
Every year is a new season so until about week 7-8 its hard to judge the strength of each Division .

.
Thatís exactly what iím trying to say. Itís not that D3 teams are always better than D4 teams, itís that D3 is deeper and harder to compete in.

I think we saw this with Toledo Central Catholic. They absolutely tore through their regular season schedule then lost in the regional finals to a team (Avon) that got beat by a team TCC dominated in the game before (Avon Lake) 56-16.

Some teams worth mentioning
Dover- graduated their QB right? Dropped down from D2. Any info on them?
Aurora- Great coaching staff, favorable schedule. Anyone know their returners?
Chardon- pretty young last year, graduated their best player.
Tri Valley- don’t know much about them but they were in the state championship 2 years ago and competed well in D2 last year.

The Akron contenders (St. V, Buchtel, East) have brutal schedules. In region 9 they’ll have to play at a really high clip for a lot of weeks to even get in the top 8

Dover returns several starters from last season but lost all time pass leader Sayre. I would guess they will start either a senior or a sophomore both are good athletes. The offense will continue to evolve away from the pure spread. Schedule includes Canfield,East and Steubenville 3 of the states top D3 programs. Dover will be underdogs in all 3

No way Steubenville could challenge them. They lost a playoff game in division 4 last season. No way. Wait...

D3 is about to get really familiar with the name Tayveon Crawford. Keep sleeping on Big Red if you want to.

Dang I thought challenging was being respectful,Steubenville thrashed Dover last year and has romped in 2 of the 4 games,East has split with Dover in 4 years and Canfield has been tremendous for several years after a few down years. Chill
