Lol no they're not. To be ahead of the curve they'd have to have a top 3-5 cost of living. Total dolt.

I only factor in labor unions and what they stand for when buying vehicles.

Middle of the road cost of living.
Bottom 4 teacher's salary.

Retiring after 2026 requires 60 years of age and 35 years for full benefits. They recently moved the finish line.

Yeah about the more work....no they don't. But I do think they should be paid more. Their jobs sucks tbh, unless they are in a good district. Kids are Aholes and their parents are worse.

Agree with most of that. But yes, they do more work. They donít just go home after school and return the next day and they donít just sit by the pool all summer like most of these dolts think.

As does my wife. She'll go in a couple days the week before schools back in to get her classroom set up but that's it. I've figured up her hourly rate before and she's making north of $50.

I think young teachers are underpaid. Many older teachers may be overpaid.

The idea that every teacher needs a Masters and its commensurate salary is a bit stupid. We have an elementary phys Ed teacher making nearly $80k. Alumni athlete, great guy, father of 4 or 5, but that's a joke.

Great post. But we will never see that guy again. Young teachers of today are screwed. And all the teachers I know work year round to some degree. Not to mention the modern culture that believes you drop your kids of and the school not only teaches but child rears. Thankless gig anymore.

That's clever and funny, but my kids would have been easy for me. AP students. I had to keep working. Less than a year left now, and I'll be retiring at about 55. Not a professional educator, but set for life

Actually, many Ohio home-schooled kids take the proficiency tests. Mine typically did it in a conference room at some hotel in Beachwood.

Mine, able to work at their own pace in the virtual classroom, were always at the very top of the rankings. So, yeah, advanced placement when they entered public school, and AP options had we continued at home.
