I thought Guess was a Senior this year. That being said I dont remember him committing anywhere.

I think Amari Davis is going to have a HUGE year! IMO Gaffney is the best of those on the list that I have seen. But there is a lot of talent around him on Garfield Heights, so his numbers may not be up there with some of the other players at the end of the year.

He is listed on some of the recruiting sites as a 2019. I'm guessing he is going to a prep school somewhere. Since he's not OHSAA eligible, he's off the list too.

I thought he had multiple D 1 offers but since I don't recall a signing, grades must be an issue and the other poster correct in that he has to go to a prep school.

What is the definition of Mr. basketball ? Best college prospect or best all around H.S. player. If it is best college prospect I would probably go with Gaffney.

Don’t sleep on Devine Grant of Lorain. Led a bunch to state with 34 against St Ed’s and 29 against Toledo St Johns. Broke his hand in the first half of state semifinal versus Moeller. Still had 17.

So it looks like Alonzo Gaffney might be headed out of state. It will be interesting to see who is left by the start of the season.

6-6 super Frosh Chris Livingston is the real deal. Add in four transfers from STVM and at least one from Hoban and current Senior 6-6 John King jr and the Griffs have a Roster with talent and depth that could make a run in D2 to Columbus.

Livingston is the best I have seen this summer and it wasn’t close. I have to admit I didn’t even know he was from Akron, was there to watch my cousin play and this kid put on a show like I haven’t seen since Lebron. Going to be a special year at Buchtel.

Gaffney should have been taken off this list. He is confirmed going to Brewster Academy in New Hampshire this year.

Schedule may hinder his chances, but had a strong spring/summer and has improved his athleticism and body.
