My bad, I though you brought up world wars. My apologies.

Anyway back to the thread topic. What Saban did through 9/11 and in the wake of those horrific events is nothing short of amazing. For this reason I'd put him at #1.

Comparing coaches who had half their team volunteer to serve their country in a WORLD war to coaching through 9/11 are we.

Who the hell brought up world wars? I'm talking about 9/11 and what Nick Saban has accomplished since then.

Miracles?

At one of the blue blood programs in the country?

Scott Frost performed a miracle at UCF.

Name the last coach with the guts to bench a starting qb who was 25-2 to start a true freshmen QB in the title game.

Since 2000 EVERY player that Saban has signed and stayed for 3 years at either LSU or Bama has won at least one National Championship.

My vote goes to Larry Kehres of Mount Union. 27 years as their head coach, 332 wins against 24 losses, 21 undefeated regular seasons, 11 national championships including 7 in 10 years between 1993 and 2002 and now his son Vince is 70 and 4 in five years at Mount Union.

For the past 25 years every player at Mount Union that stayed for four years has at least one national championship ring.

No, you are right. They only go to a D3 school to get a degree and play football on the side.

I think you need to spend most of the off season laughing, because you need to get the A off from around your head.

Saw on Twitter that Saban is now 16-3 in BCS, Playoff, and SEC championship games. .842 winning percentage on the biggest stages. Incredible.

Yes the AAC may not be a great conference but it's clearly #6 behind the Power 5. They also have won their last 3 BCS/NY6 Bowls:
2013 - UCF over Baylor
2015 - Houston over Florida State
2017 - UCF over Auburn

Hard to argue against him at this point. He’s won titles with multiple core groups of players and many different coordinators.

Little known fact: Nick Saban spent six weeks in the spring of 1973 as a student gym teacher at Solon High School. I was a freshman in one of his gym classes, so I should know.

And his only losses are to Meyer(2x) and Swinney.

Yeah but none of those teams were trying. Apparently Baylor, FSU, and Auburn have no problem getting embarrassed on national television by a mid-major.

Saban never had to coach through a world war, so let's calm down about that record.

While I think Saban is the best college football coach in the modern era at any level, the extraordinary accomplishments of the Mount Union coach is definitely worth mentioning. And I bet if you sat down and shot the breeze with Saban he would be impressed at what the MU coach accomplished and created.
