Ohio State doesn't have to schedule these tough OOC home and home games. They can go back to scheduling the small Ohio MAC schools and the service academies.
No, you should not be mad at the committee. You should be mad at Ohio St. losing by 31 to Iowa. Once that happened, Alabama basically did not have to do anything

Well that's obviously true, but the committee allows the SEC to schedule those FCS teams in November and still be rewarded by going to the Playoff. That's what I was getting at.

I think it's incredibly disingenuous to rip Alabama for scheduling poorly. They scheduled Florida State in game 1, how were they supposed to predict FSU would crumble this year? Same can be said for Ohio State's scheduling of VA Tech, Cal, and Miami in recent years. These games are scheduled well ahead of time. It's difficult to predict how good a team will be in five to ten years

It does not matter when they are scheduled, and all big time teams play their share of cupcake games. Don't forget you do not get anything for scheduling tough matchups, you got to win them for your benefit. It can work for you, or against you.

Don't you know it's ok for Ohio State to schedule cupcakes AND play in a weak conference? With Buckeye fans, it's about their record, not who they played, and with everyone else, it's who they play.

Bama Literally destroyed FSU's season by knocking their starting QB out for the year.

Someone said The Citadel will replace Mercer next year for Alabama. Will it still be their "bye week" before playing Auburn?

Buckeyes caught a break next season, they don't have to go to Iowa.

Bottom Line is Ohio St had 2 losses and did not deserve to be in the playoffs. Just like last year Penn St had 2 losses and Ohio St had 1. Penn St didn't deserve to be in the playoffs. Wins and losses have got to mean something. Ohio St could have overcome the Oklahoma loss but having 2 losses and getting destroyed by Iowa at Iowa was way too much.

They deserve credit for that and for scheduling FSU. However, great teams don't crumble when they lose one player. FSU should be stronger as a program than that. I think the problems this year may have had more to do with Jimbo's situation

Red the B1G was better than the SEC this year on the whole. The SEC was strong at the top with UGA, Bama and Auburn but very poor in the middle and bottom. The B1G was strong at the top, OSU, PSU and Wisconsin (all will finish within top 8) and better in the middle with MSU, Iowa, Purdue, Michigan, etc. B1G was bad at the bottom again, which happens when you have 14 members.

play Fla state in a Home and Home series, just like the Buckeyes have done with ND, USC, Texas, etc..... don't play them in Dallas and Atlanta....

The top is where it matters the most though. To argue over teams that are 6-6, and 3-9, are really digging deep. If your mediocre, and poor teams are a little better, I don't thing of it as that big of a deal. Would rather have to teams in the national championship easily. Even one

No reason for it. They play usually a real team early at a neutral venue. Works out fine. Would not call it afraid.

They clearly have an apprehension about leaving the South, but it would have nothing to do with weather since it doesn't get cold until near the end of the season. It's probably to do with recruiting. Saban probably doesn't want to go into a non-SEC stadium and take a loss. So, he'll never go to Ohio State or California or Texas. Hell, he probably hates having to play other big time programs on the road within the SEC. He probably lobbies the conference to avoid inter-divisional matchups with Georgia and Florida.

I would say Ohio State's wins and Iowa loss > Alabama's wins and Auburn loss.

Because they don't have to. If you're able to make BCS games and CFP games using their scheduling model, why would you change it?

That is just the way the schedule is made out. You do know that some of the ACC teams schedule the same way. Really it is no big deal. You making a big deal out of nothing
