Chip Kelly will get destroyed in the SEC. Can't blame Florida for going for an offensive mind like Kelly but his all out, all speed style doesn't work when you are facing equally good coaches who know how to slow it down. Kelly belongs in the Pac12 imo

Looks like another delusional SEC fan base wants to make an interesting change: https://www.si.com/college-football/...zahn-jeff-long
It was just a month or so ago that Malzahn’s seats was hot and now he is being talked about to replace Bielema? If anything he might leverage this for a big raise.

I get he's from the state and was a former assistant, but why would he want to go take a job that's below Auburn?

Mora out at UCLA. Have to think Chip Kelly is their top target.

I can believe Malzahn to Arkansas is a legitimate possibility. Unless he absolutely wants out at FSU, I can't believe there's any real possibility Jimbo would leave for A&M.
I'd have to believe UCLA is going to make a quick push for Chip. IMO, they have to be the favorite barring an outlandish offer from Florida or Tennessee.

Auburn has a bad case of little brother syndrome. He might be fired if he loses to Bama.

Looks like Kelly will have his pick between Florida and UCLA and may make a decision by Thursday. The conventional thinking is that it will be UCLA but the situation is fluid.

Kevin Sumlin's firing looks imminent: http://www.houstonchronicle.com/spor..._medium=social
That means the following SEC schools will be looking for new Coaches at the end of the season:
Tennessee
Florida
Texas A&M
Ole Miss (They have been using an interim head coach since Freeze resigned)
Arkansas (Not official but will be by the end of the week)
Miss State and Auburn have their coaches being mentioned to fill some of those vacancies so they may also be looking for new coaches this winter too. If all the above changes occur outside of Nick Saban the longest tenured SEC coach could be Mark Stoops at 5 years. Amazing.

Florida would be doing Mississippi State a huge favor of they took Dan Mullen away imo. They've made so many disastrous hires

What? Mullen has done solid work at Miss St. He's not an upper echelon guy like Saban or Meyer, but he's firmly in that next tier.

Dan Mullen has been very solid at Mississippi State. IMO it has to be the toughest job in the SEC West and one of the three toughest in the SEC as a whole (UK and Vandy). The last 5-6 years he only has one less league win than Sumlin who has vastly superior resources (recruiting pool, facilities, etc.). It looks like he's a lot better than most at coaching his guys up, which is why he's eventually going to get a better SEC job.

Mullen had issues at Florida with boosters and staff.
FWIW Kelly has turned down Tenn and Neb. Down to UCLA and Florida, his Nike relationship may have an impact. Arizona St is the dark horse

SI's ranking of the top 10 names to watch for new gigs: https://www.si.com/college-football/...ly-scott-frost
1. Chip Kelly
2. Jimbo Fisher
3. Scott Frost
4. Dan Mullen
5. Gus Malzahn
6. Matt Campbell
7. Brent Venables
8. Kevin Sumlin
9. Bret Bielema
10. Willie Taggart
Just outside: Mike Leach, Dave Clawson, and Mike MacIntyre. Of note, they did not list John Gruden as a realistic name to watch, Tennessee fans heads are exploding.

Is there really demand for Bielema at this point?

Aside from buffets demanding he stop showing up? Probably not.

With Sumlim out at A&M, have to think Fisher is on deck. Apparently, he had a nasty divorce and wants to start fresh. I could see FSU pursuing Mullen aggressively. They'll want someone who has established success at a high level.

I was wondering why the hell Fisher would leave FSU for AM.

To give you an idea of how good Mullen has been at MSU, if they beat Ole Miss it will be his 4th 9+ win season in his tenure. From 1981-2008, MSU had exactly
one 9+ season

Chip Kelly officially named coach at UCLA. Give him 2 yrs and they'll win the PAC 12.

Smart decision by Kelly. Far higher chance of success at UCLA than in the SEC, and likely less pressure too.
LA also offers a nice recruiting advantage than Gainesville doesn't, he may have visions of turning them into something like USC was under Carroll.

It's still Chip Kelly. Playing tough defense isn't a priority. He'd never coach in the ACC, Big Ten, or SEC.

Yeah not sure how anyone thought that was good. Hopefully Nebraska can get Frost. The West needs some help.
