He will start as a freshman in football or wrestling?

I can't imagine him not starting on both.

Watch what is happening closely with the PTC Metro. It is about to have a big effect on what happens with the PAC in the future.

How so Stiz?

I thought the Metro had 8? Which school(s) shakes off from the 8?

I heard this past weekend from a coach within the PTC metro that there will be a team from the PAC joining them in the future.

Two schools from PAC could leave because of this. One could go Metro and the other one to County. Both are investigating the possibility.

Are you referring to CVCA and Manchester?

I would be very surprised, if not shocked, if Manchester left the PAC for the PTC. They are comfortable where they are now competitively. New opponents and a new league are not something they want to face and start all over again. However, that being said, after this year a new regime will be in charge. That's the rumor.

Is Jim France planning to retire for the third time at the end of this year?

Just a rumor, but a logical one.

Manchester is definitely looking at the PTC and talking to that league. CVCA has tougher way to go to get into what the Metro will become. There is opposition to them being a private school that could take students away from the schools they would compete against.

I'll believe it when I see it happen.

New hot rumor is that Norwayne thinks they are too good for the WCAL and are interested in going to the PAC. Anyone outside of Wayne County heard of this also?

I haven't heard anything confirming or denying it, but I find it VERY difficult to believe. The WCAL is one of most stable conferences in the state. If they were to leave, I feel their spot would be filled by Triway before you can exhale.

I agree, I think Norwayne is going through a great wave of talent right now, but leaving would be short-sighted if they truly think that. You are right though Triway would just slide right in if that happened.

Norwayne was one of the schools that supported an attempt a few years ago to merge the PAC and the WCAL. Manchester Triway and Doylestown were the others. I have not heard of this move by Norwayne but maybe they kept their connections open?

Latest on Wright. He continues to receive offers, a lot of offers, but not from the one place he covets.

Even if he doesn't get that one offer, he is looking at offers from Northwestern, Duke, and Vandy. All are top level private schools that will set you up for life in the field of your choice because of the education and connections they provide.

If anyone saw the write-ups, the PAC represented very well in the Ohio North-South Classic D IV-VII game. In it's current state, the PAC is one of the best medium-small school conferences in the state. It is loaded with talent, quality programs, and good coaching. I'm curious as to how the upcoming realignment will affect things.

On another note, rumor has it that if the levy passes, Manchester will be building a new stadium along with other new structures and athletic facilities.

When is the levy vote? Hopefully, it'll pass. Manchester schools are aging and building new could be more economical than upkeeping old. The youngest school building is the middle school, and that opened in fall of 1974. Back then there was overcrowding in the schools and the middle school only housed 7th and 8th grade. I was in the first 7th grade class to attend there.

cat, I believe the BOE will be announcing their decision soon. There are 3-4 options on the table, new schools, combining schools, tearing down schools and etc. I assume the vote will be in November.

I hear Manchester is getting two "move ins" and one is a QB. What is the story?

They desperately need a QB. It probably cost them a real shot at a state title last fall.

stizo, Jason France does a very good job of getting kids to return and getting open enrollment players.

And yes, if they had better QB play last year, they could have taken advantage of some their talented players. However, the QB's were limited as to who they could throw to.

Cancel that. I got some bad information. One is a Coventry move in and the other is a Manchester move in. One could play QB. Will not matter. Both going to Hoban. I saw Manchester and Orrville in the playoffs last year. QB was the difference. That Domer kid was a threat to throw or run. Manchester's QB was a threat to do neither. Manchester would have been better off putting another blocker in the backfield and direct snapping to either of the talented RB's that they had.
