Coshocton D-3 District Rankings (off season #4)

I love doing these rankings, but as it has been pointed out before, they are just for fun. To any wrestlers who read these and feel that they are ranked too low, you may be right.
I am bound to be wrong on many of the rankings, but fortunately they have absolutely no impact on how anyone will finish at any tournament this season or any other year.

I started moving wrestlers up and down from their previous yearís weights. The new weights are partially based off of where theyíve been wrestling in the off season, though a lot of it is pure guesswork at this time.
Please let me know if anyone has inside information about new weights, schools, or wrestlers that they think should be added.

Iíve tried shifting the wrestlers around from schools that changed divisions. Please let me know if any are wrong, or if Iím forgetting any schools/wrestlers.

* = unsure about participation

-The schools of the incoming freshmen are based off of the previous Yappi thread. Please let me know if any are wrong or have changed.

106-
1. Collin Yinger- Nelsonville-York (4th state)
2. Lucian Brink- Coshocton (SQ)
3. Marshal Niswonger- Caldwell (5th district)
4. Gavin Weaver- Newcomerstown
5. Tyler Banta- Malvern
6. Chase Ward- Martins Ferry
7. Jeremy Fletcher- Huntington
8. Manny Hielman- Northmor

This looks like it will be a solid weight if these wrestlers are indeed able to return to 106. I have very little insight into the incoming freshmen at this weight, but thereís bound to be a few that will contend for a district medal out of the gate.

113-
1. Jacob Edwards- River Valley (6th district, 5th district 2016)
2. Jordan Dalby- Union Local
3. Joseph Bonfini- Bellaire
4. Cooper Hemming- Sandy Valley
5. Jake Mathews- (Richmond) Edison
6. Brayden Rittenhouse- W. Muskingum
7. Taiylor Hubley- Cardington-Lincoln
8. Jordyn Spencer- Buckeye Local

120-
1. Austin Guthrie- Coshocton (SQ)
2. James Torres- (Richmond) Edison (5th district)
3. Andrew Knaup- W. Muskingum
4. Tyler Antonacci- Bridgeport
5. Jesse Kean- West Jefferson
6. Evan Mohler- Nelsonville-York
7. Dawson Smith- Utica
8. Carson Rupe- Crooksville

126-
1. Klay Reeves- (Johnstown) Northridge (8th, 8th state)
2. Carter Wolf- Pleasant (7th state)
3. Gavin Ramos- Northmor (6th district)
4. Brayden Reynolds- Barnesville
5. Skylar Davis- Fredericktown (6th district)
6. Joseph Burns- River Valley
7. Chase Mollencamp- Liberty Union
8. Jason Thomas- Huntington

Reeves vs. Wolf could be a great district final pitting two state placers against one another at this weight. A win could play a huge role in state bracketing and determining placement in Columbus.

132-
1. Noah Inboden- Nelsonville-York (8th state)
2. Logan Hursey- Newcomerstown (3rd middle school state)
3. Blake Barrick- Coshocton (SQ)
4. Ryley Crall- Union Local (5th district)
5. Steven Mitchell- Bellaire
6. Jacob Newell- Sandy Valley
7. Levi Pemberton- Caldwell
8. Joey Buckland- West Jefferson

I donít know if I have Hursey overrated or underrated, but I expect him to be a legitimate threat to claim a district title as a freshman this year.

138-
1. Aaron Kitts- Northmor (SQ)
2. Brian Heller- Nelsonville-York (SQ)
3. Tyler Caudy- Ridgewood (5th district)
4. Hunter Gilbert- Belpre (6th district)
5. Clay Moore- Bellaire
6. Ben Howell- Union Local*
7. Bryce Farrabee- Barnesville
8. Collin Wiley- Caldwell

145-
1. Conan Becker- Northmor (6th, 5th state)
2. Mason Kuneff- Bridgeport (SQ)
3. Jeremiah Dobbins- River Valley
4. Jackson Unger- Coshocton
5. Carter Winegarner- W. Muskingum
6. Todd Zbuka- Tusky Valley
7. Dylan Hershberger- Garaway
8. David Chapman- Crooksville (8th middle school state)

It looks like Becker will enter the season as the co-favorite for the state title with 3x state placer Logan Kissell.

152-
1. Conor Becker- Northmor (SQ)
2. Billy Luft- Newark Catholic (SQ)
3. Anthony Koping- Nelsonville-York
4. Mark Woodward- W. Jefferson
5. Griffen Heatherington- Bellaire
6. Anthony Sanders- Newcomerstown
7. Richard McFarland- Martins Ferry
8. Aiden Taylor- River

160-
1. Colt Yinger- Nelsonville-York (2nd, 3rd state)
2. Forrest Belli- (Johnstown) Northridge (5th state)
3. Santino Kusic- Bridgeport (SQ)
4. Brylan Clouse- Barnesville (5th district, 6th district 2016)
5. Seth Cade- (Richmond) Edison (6th district)
6. Logan Harper- W. Jefferson
7. Christian Wright- Garaway
8. Wyatt Head- W. Muskingum

Itíll be interesting to see who emerges as Yingerís greatest threat to a state title. Last yearís state champ at 160 was James Limongi who is registered for Super 32 at 152 which is scratch weight. Genoa has also added state placer Kevin Contos who is expected to wrestle at 160.

170-
1. Tyler Speelman- Nelsonville-York (6th state)
2. Richie Stalnaker- Newark Catholic (SQ 2016)
3. Zac Talbot- River*
4. Eric Weber- River Valley
5. Austin Croto- Tusky Valley
6. Drake Dobson- Martins Ferry
7. Jarrett Deaton- Bridgeport
8. Michael Herrmann- Steubenville C.C.

I was surprised to see Boro had Stalnaker listed at this weight, but Iím glad to see that the state qualifier is expected to return to the mat after missing the end of the season last year.

182-
1. Jackson Dunn- Tusky Valley (SQ 2016)
2. Brice Berger- Danville
3. Jason Stubbs- Ridgewood
4. Mason Wiley- Caldwell
5. Nathaniel Wilson- W. Jefferson
6. Logan Bruce- Nelsonville-York
7. James Hood- Pleasant
8. Shayne Christian- Buckeye Local

195-
1. Garrett Duncan- Bridgeport (SQ)
2. Jarrett Palmer- W. Muskingum (6th district)
3. Dalton Rice- Shenandoah
4. Will Gillingham- Paint Valley*
5. Delathion Boxley- Martins Ferry
6. Colten Roark- Fereal Hocking
7. Seth Johnson- Tusky Valley
8. Colt Snyder Ė Nelsonville-York (7th middle school state)

This is a weight with a number of question marks. Snyder is a talented freshman on a good team. If he can compete at the district and state levels right away, it would be a huge benefit for Nelsonville-York in Columbus.
Iím not sure if Gillingham will return this year, and Boxley could be even better than I have him listed. He could make a serious impact on the district tournament now that he has a spot in the starting line-up with Hoover moving up.

220-
1. Dalton Hoover- Martins Ferry (3rd, 2nd state)
2. River Pappas- (Richmond) Edison (6th district)
3. Jamie Baisden- Pleasant
4. Hunter Braithwaite- W. Jefferson
5. Kevin Cuervo- Steubenville C.C.
6. Dylan Wilson- Danville
7. Andrew Moore- Southeastern
8. Cash Presnell- Shenandoah

285-
1. Hunter Bodkin- Martins Ferry (SQ, 8th state 2016)
2. Donovan McCollister- Nelsonville-York (SQ)
3. Kade Clark- Union Local (6th district)
4. Mitchell Hurlburt- Fredericktown
5. Liam Kirkpatrick- Newark Cath.
6. Levi Bryant- Bridgeport
7. Chet Lohr- W. Jefferson
8. Isaiah Lafontain- Southeastern

Iím interested to see what Bodkin and McCollister are able to do this year at heavyweight. I believe that either is capable of walking away with the state title, but itís hard to know how theyíll handle the weight disparity against some of the bigger heavyweights.

Teams:
1. Nelsonville-York
2. Northmor
3. Bridgeport
4. Martins Ferry
5. Coshocton
6. West Jefferson
7. River Valley
8. Edison/West Muskingum

I expect Northmor to have more names emerge as district scorers, but at this time Nelsonville-York looks like a significant favorite for the district title.
Iím not sure if they have the state firepower to hang with Genoa, but Nelsonville-York is certainly capable of bringing home a trophy from the state tournament this year.

A special thanks to Boro Fan for all the insight into the weights of the wrestlers, Baumís Page, Inside the Circle, the OVAC wrestling website, and Jakeís Wrestling for all of the results that they provide, and to any of the other wrestling nerds that actually read these things.
