Clark "Special K" Kellogg, far better complete (passing, shooting, rebounding) high school player than LeBron and a 4.0 gpa in the classroom.

Kevin Garnett, and I can't say it's particularly close.

I think my favorite player to watch, though, was Shaun Livingston, and I wish I could have seen more than just the state tournament games. A lot of the players on these lists are here because they matured early and were physically dominant in HS. Livingston was NBA-ready mentally. Truly elegant game, read the court like no 18-year-old I've ever seen.

I'll second those comments on Jackson. People do forget how great a player he truly was. He was great in HS, great at OSU and had something special going in Dallas with the "Three Amigos" before the nonsense got in the way.

He was in my next 2-3. While I know he wasn't as good as Burke, I actually had more fun watching Weatherspoon. LoL

Best HS gym I ever played in and coached in IMO from a history standpoint---went to my first tourney game at Wade E. Miller in 1967 when the Oxford District was split between there and Withrow Court at Miami U.--saw Hamilton Taft play a 16-2 Hamilton Badin--the place was packed with everyone from Hamilton and it was 25 degrees outside, but 90 degrees in the Miller with windows open in the top row. What a special place with the banners and the softest rims in SW Ohio--hard not to be a good shooter on those babies.

The GMC games with Middletown, Hamilton Taft and Garfield, Fairfield, and Princeton were fantastic in the 60's and 70's and as a coach in the league in the 80's and 90's when Lakota and Lima were added made it great basketball--literally you had to be at the JV game at tipoff to get a seat for the rest of the night--those gyms were the place to be on Friday nights--great memories!!

Andrew Wiggins

Terence Dials

Also saw CJ McCollum play in high school but he wasn't at the elite level yet like he is now with the Portland TrailBlazers.

Anybody remember Heath White from Taft around 2005 or 06? May have started his career at Winton Woods. Not the best I've ever seen but he could ball and I never heard what happened to him after high school. Those Taft teams also had DeAndre Bryd, Eddie Gray, Brandon Russ and Tyrone Bradshaw. I recall the 06 Regional final at UD when Dequan and Dunbar beat them in an OT thriller. They also played at US bank arena that year before the NCH/Oak Hill clash.

Jimmy Jackson. Went to college at BGSU and they had a tourney game on campus against Toledo Scott. Scoop Jackson (I think that was his name) had a nice game for Scott. Jackson did everything for Toledo Macomber but didn't really force anything the entire game.

Greg Simpsom was always fun to watch and even though the Middies weren't great then, Miller Gym was packed. There was a guy named Tutu Brown, I think maybe from Dunbar, that came to Middletown and scored like 50 points shooting the ball from everywhere and making everything. It was a standout memory for me in high school.

Saw Luke Kennard once and he was very impressive. Always seemed to be in control of the game and always cool and calm.

My son was at a tournament and Montverde played the game before them a few years ago. He said Ben Simmons was insane. That was the best player he said he ever saw live.

Hey Trojan, funny thing. I'm too young to have seen Dwight play, but about 7 years ago, he helped coach Fairmont basketball for a year or two. He was about 50 years old at the time. One day, Dwight and Ty Fields worked with the kids on defensive rotation/communication. It was five Fairmont kids on offense against just Ty and Dwight, but the two of them seemed to cover the entire court by themselves. Even at 50 years old, Dwight was amazingly quick. There's a reason they called him the Blur.

That's a great story and I believe it. From what my pops said, he was a once in a generation type player. Could do it all. He is truly one of those "what if" type of players. Unfortunately drugs got the best of him.

I hope he's doing well and has stayed clean.
