Elder's not in a great area, but it's hardly dangerous. I've felt way more unsafe walking out of games at Nippert than the Pit.

It's an opinion...I think it's inevitable. You can disagree.

Not sure how that is complaining?

??????

In fact, I didn't complain once in the thread, yet all of a sudden I'm a complainer? Not sure where you're getting some of this stuff. You complain that my post got moved but it was directly related to the enrollment thread that was started (which it was moved from which makes no sense). So I just re-posted it because there's no reason it should have been moved.

Funny how Trey "doesn't care" but spends hours on here each day. And this same guy can't keep his complaints organized. Seriously everyone, just add him to your Ignore List. There's plenty of other posters who aren't bootlickers that will give honest opinions rooted in logic. Don't waste time on some goof with the mental capacity of a 6 year old.

LOL...Descartes realizes he's the reigning moron on this forum, and he feels threatened.

You win!!!

All of this after I posted a completely normal response to an enrollment question. Are you guys really that sensitive?

At least I can admit. I also have no life. Eat schmidt pal, eat schmidt. Maybe I went to St. X then OH. Or maybe OH then X. Or maybe neither. Maybe I went to Elder, got the boot then went to OH. Or maybe I was an LSO in the Air Force. Maybe. But what the hell is it to you, hoepoontang?

It's Visi's fault for not playing Trey's boy more. How's he supposed to develop into the 10th man on the Freshman team? Ridiculous!

That's fine...and there's some that agree that won't admit it on here, and there's many that agree that don't post here.

Over the past few years, I've talked to hundreds of people informally who may not have exactly the same point of view, but have a very similar theme as to why athletics at Elder has decreased in the last 5-10 years. And most of the conversations from others involve 1) poor development of talent (only for a select few) 2) lack of investment in success and 3) favoritism/politics.

And I doubt you've talked to hundreds of ppl in your life. You act like that list is equally weighted. Talent is 99% of why they've been average. Everything else is noise. However, I don't expect you to ever fully grasp that.

They need more talent because of how high school sports has changed. Talent wasn't an issue 10-20 years ago as it was a level playing field. They didn't change with the times. The talent is the same...the game has changed. Elder athletes today aren't worse than they were 20 years ago. You could argue the opposite is true.

Stop with the pipedream of Elder recruiting the city and getting more athletes. This would require a major shift in administrative thought. It's not going to happen.

Elder kids are what they are. They can be successful from the feeders if they take appropriate steps to develop more kids. LeBron is never walking through the door.

A major shift, like taking vouchers?

And that's not saying they're taking vouchers to get better at sports, it's a byproduct. Face it, your kid blows. He's never going to make a team at Elder. By all means, send him to OH if you want him to play. Nobody will miss your b1tch azz on here.

So that doesn't make it a major shift? Seems like getting caught up with everyone else is a major shift.

Kids that want to go to Elder go to Elder, and they make it work with financial aid.

That won't change with vouchers. You act like there are all of these inner city athletes wanting to go to Elder but they just can't afford it and vouchers will fix the problem.

Trey also doesn't understand, time is finite. You want to take PT away from the best 5 players and allocate it to the lower half of the roster. Why? Bc maybe every 5-7 years, one of those kids MIGHT develop into a good player. Typical Socialist attitude. Drag down the people at the top so those at the bottom don't feel so inadequate.

LOL...c'mon man. I have never said this nor implied this is what should happen.

It's a major shift for Elder though, something they weren't doing before.

They weren't allowing vouchers, but they were allowing kids that wanted to attend to attend via financial aid. They help out deserving families every year.

I guess the only way to know is how many vouchers they receive and accept and if those kids make a difference. Time will tell.

I don't see a long line using vouchers at Elder. Not because Elder wouldn't accept them, but I just don't think there are many out there looking to go to Elder. Just a hunch, but data can certainly prove me wrong (if anyone knows how many are taking advantage of it).

I could be way off on this one.

Don't forget vouchers arent based on the families ability to pay but on how bad their local school is. I know a few people from College Hill that live in a nice area, could easily afford private schools but used vouchers since their local public school was in such bad shape they were made eligible.
