Hudson Coach Rekindles Separation Debate

What do Russ Jacques, Mike Trivisonno, and now Ron Wright have in common? They need some cheese with their whine!

I don't know if he rekindled anything. He just made some comments. They disappoint me.

Publics are following the general trend with this country.... life isn't fair so let's legislate equality. In other words, Socialism.

I can't believe any competitive person would stoop to wanting this. Perhaps they aren't all that competitive. Perhaps all they want is a meaningless trophy to give their lives meaning.

I'm even more shocked that Poland's basketball coach said that they have "the best Division 2 public school team in Ohio."

Private schools are following the Republican mantra of "elitism!" Take care of the top 5% and tell the ignorant that it has to be that way or they will be harmed! In politics, it's about guns, religion, homosexuality and those sorts of issues. In HS sports, it's the idea that the privates will form their own association and it will be the Wild, Wild West - like it isn't now? Typical elitist drivel!

What are Open Enrollment schools doing? My public school district and the high school that I follow is OE. I pay taxes here and obviously people that live ANYWHERE go to the school. I've said it for years, you want to be the best play the best, worry about yourself and sthu!

Let them go and hire as many players as they want. You think they have to travel now ?

The only difference between the sense of entitlement held by a welfare momma and the entitlement that the private school boosters feel towards their sports dominance is writing a couple checks a year.

Just because you pay the money to Eds or Moeller doesn't mean that you deserve 13 or 14 weeks of football every year.

this is just typical Hudson, can't get it done so they whine. If they get beat they complain. This is how it has always been. They honestly feel they are entitled.

We knocked them out of the basketball tournament the year before last, and all we got was, "That's alright, that's OK, you will work for us someday!" from their student section. It felt good, actually. No whining or complaining after that.

The lack of complaint had more to do with the fact that we are a public school.

Jealous of what? I'm guessing you're with the Hudson coach and do not want to play the best teams in your trek to a title. The system is how it is. Hudson has more than enough resources to compete with St. Eds the fact of the matter is they just are not that tough. Hudson has never been tough and it shows here. I would be thoroughly embarrassed if my head coach was all bitter like that after getting thoroughly outplayed. It just makes him look really bad.

Most catholic schools I know are very active in addressing social issues, a component of their education is social justice. Teaching their students through example and involvement they make a difference and make life better for others. They leave these schools with a sense of contributing to make their communities better.

To call them elitist is just wrong.

If the OHSAA wants to ruin the great tradition of Ohio HS football by separating the playoff's, it will be the worst decision ever. PERIOD

Quit crying. My God. I cans see fans doing this but a coach who's team just went 13-1 and beat traditional catholic powers along the way makes me sick!

I enjoy these ridiculous political analogies.

FWIW, Hudson enjoys other inherent advantages that 99% of other schools--public or private--would love to have. The one big thing Hudson (and Mentor, Strongsville, etc.) don't have is open-enrollment, which is by choice.

How hard would it have been to say, "Our boys played hard. We had a really good season, our best season ever. But we ran into a very good well-coached team tonight, with some tremendous individual players"? The usual post-game drivel that classy coaches know what to say and not be labeled as sore losers.

That would make too much sense. I saw St. End play and I didn't give Hudson much of a chance.

Has Triv ever even said anything after a game? I always thought of him as the most anti-private coach in NEO.

Exactly...Ed's coach was at Mayfield before (and Bene before that) and I'm pretty sure he never complained about this stuff.
