1. Browns were 1-14 going into last year's game, and it's true that the Steelers really had nothing to play for last year in week 17. Not a big deal to the Steelers if the Browns ended up 1-15 or 2-14.

What if the Browns come in at 0-15 this time? Are the Steelers cool with the idea of being the ones who the Browns beat for their lone win of the 2017 season.

2. Why are people so sure the Steelers will have nothing to play for in week 17? Yes, if they beat New England next week, the Steelers are in the driver's seat for home field and have a huge leg up for at least a 1st round bye. However, if they lose to New England next week and enter week 17 with at least 3 losses while Jacksonville enters the final weekend 11-4, a 1st round bye is at stake since Jacksonville owns the head-to-head tiebreaker.

If a win or loss does not improve or hurt their seed why wouldn't they be cool with it

You think they'd rather expose Big Ben, AB and Bell to injury out of some silly stick it to the Browns notion than rest them for the playoffs? If the Browns first and only win comes at the expense of their JV squad you think they are going to give a care?

Hue didn't throw that ball up in a crowd under pressure in overtime in a tie game in their own territory

If there is no chance a Steeler loss in the final week will change their playoff status in any way I think Tomlin does the same as last year and rests his guys. A lot has to happen for that to occur but I don't see Tomlin doing anything differently than last year if the situation is the same.

Yea, but Hue did call for a slant pass on 3rd and short for the 4th time in the game ... wow, I can't believe they saw it coming and took it away.

He did call a pass with the guy leading the league in turnovers rather than put the ball in the hands of his 120 yard back though.

This Sunday's game (Patriots @ Pittsburgh) goes a long way to determining if the Browns get the Steelers JV or Varsity. If the Steelers win that game, they are 2 games up with 2 to play, and hold the tiebreaker, so home field is clinched. They almost certainly rest Brown/Bell/Ben, maybe play one possession max.

If the Patriots win, Steelers need to win out and hope for help to get home field, so they will play their stars against the Browns.

I think the Browns can win in Chicago. They have a decent run defense, so if they're able to keep Howard and Cohen in check, make Trubisky beat them with his arm they'll have a shot. Gordon has injected some life into the offense and they're playing to not go 0'fer at this point. I think they'll get one win. Agree with everything said about Pittsburgh though, if they can beat NE week 17 should be winnable for Cleveland.

They still had a chance to win after all that happening, they were driving in overtime until the pop-up pass interception. Kizer's played quarterback since pee-wee he knows better!

This was the play in which Kizer threw an interception ... 3rd & short in OT ... Hue could have called a running play ... no, he had the Browns in an empty formation with no run threat ... so, what did he call ... a slant pass ... something they had done 3 times early in the game in a similar situations ... yes, Kizer made a stupid play ... partly because it was a dumb call to begin with ... just like the first interception ... with little time left in the half ... 3 & long Huey call for 4 verticals .... this is such a dump call ... in that situation they are going to play some type of over the top coverage ... there is no way a vertical pass is going to be open in that situation ... should have run some kind of under route or a crossing route ... yea the QB still throws the INT, but that because it was dumb call in the first place ... an experience QB would/should audible out of the call ... but you don't get that with a rookie.

the Chicago game has been the one ive been pointing to for a while now. Trubisky has been lttle better than Kizer and the Browns, who have continued to play hard despite the record, should have more motivation than the Bears.

Steelers Olineman Marcus Gilbert said Roethlisberger and Bell are sitting out this weekend's game.

With a bye next week I don't like resting any healthy players. At least they should play a half.

Between the Indians blowing a 2-0 lead, the Cavs getting dominated in the NBA Finals and the Browns going 0-16, this was an amazing year for Cleveland sports.

On what was probably Kizer's most accurate throw of the day, within 6 inches of perfect. One moment that was emblematic of Kizer's performance, Hue's play-calling, and Sashi's personnel decisions. All in one second.

It lent a sort of symmetry to the whole year. Almost everything aligned, and a crucial fail at the least opportune time. A "Tanking Karma" groove that they're trapped in.
