for the record Hiland is in the top tier for all other sports and I THINK not definite that Conotton Valley is in the lower tier for all other sports

Hiland has no football and CV just didnt want in for football

Bandit, I like those two tiers based on location especially. Meadowbrook looks to take on a tough task with Newcomerstown but atleast they have each other and less of a drive.

Divisions in the other sports are based on location not numbers..

Anyone happen to know what the divisions are in every other sport? I would think it only makes sense to make all the sports the same.

something like this Nomadic?
The only problem I see with this is, you can't take Meadowbrook without Cambridge and you can't take Coshocton without River View.
How about this...

Big
Claymont
Indian Valley
Garaway
Ridgewood
Harrison Central
Tusky Valley
Fairless
Tuslaw

Small
Sandy Valley
Malvern
Newcomerstown
Buckeye Trail
East Canton
Strasburg
TCC
Conotton Valley

Week 10 matchups would be
Claymont-Indian Valley
Garaway-Ridgewood (Much better than Wood-Newc. and Garaway-Strasburg)
Fairless-Tuslaw (Same as now in PAC)
Harrison Central-Tusky Valley
Sandy Valley-Malvern
Newcomerstown-Buckeye Trail (Trail's closest league opponent)
TCC-Conotton Valley (League's to smallest schools)
East Canton-Strasburg

The only one that doesn't make much sense is Harrison Central-Tusky Valley.
But, TV is playing Garaway week 10 this year and Harrison Central is playing
Buckeye Local.
If teams did want to do any crossover games they could be played in weeks 1-3.

Only 12 years, I would have guessed longer.
I adjusted my earlier post. Thanks.

(this is claymonts chance to be the big fish - not sure they would vote yes)
Buckeye Trail is just as far away as Meadowbrook.
Claymont is one of the few teams in the IVC that would vote yes for Coshocton.
Claymont has played 52 seasons of football, they've played Coshocton 49 times, every year since 1969. They had a chance to drop Coshocton this year when they joined the IVC, they will play Coshocton for the 50th time in Week two this season. The series stands Claymont 19 wins, Coshocton 27 wins with 3 ties.

I believe it goes like this for baseball and basketball

North
Tcc
Strsvegs
EC
Sandy
Malvern
Forgotten Valley
Tusky

South
Hiland
Gway
Wood
Trail
Claymont
IV
Newc

This is what I've heard. Couldn't do big and small in basketball because Hiland refused to be in the small.

Not sure why league schools would allow Hiland to be a decision making voice in the construction of new league. Makes no sense to me.

Probably the same reason SV got into the small side.

Couldn't agree more Chicken. i believe when they joined the league, the deal was they would eventually have football.

and i agree with redline. Same exact thing.

Why do teams get to pick where they go.. "oh were going to leave if we don't go here..."

Well then leave. But no, cater to everyone and what they want.

I had heard the HILAND deal

then I have also heard they will never have football........

The baseball basketball breakdown tho does keep travel in winter months to the best minimum possible

So because Sandy Valley was afraid of the big schools in football , all the little schools got screwed over and now have to play essentially 3 big schools.

That's either a coward move, or a very smart move. Will be interesting to see how it works for them. Not sure why the small schools would agree to this. The cross over games will cause this league to be short lived in my opinion. No way the small schools will take two free beatings per year for long.

i don't think Sandy realizes how hard it will be to make the playoffs playing a bunch of D7 schools. The deal with newcomerstown and sandy just absolutely baffles me. I'm aware they both wanted to be placed where the are currently, but it is not good for their own programs (especially newcomerstown and the state they are in) and it is not good for the rest of the league.

Buckeye Trail move to IVC doesn't make sense from a travel standpoint, great to play better schedule for football but they are not regulars at the top of the PVC so competing for titles in IVC won't happen. No way Meadowbrook or Cambridge would be interested in a move to a much smaller league, even though Cambridge enrollment continues to dwindle. ECOL fits perfect for them, as long as ECOL is around

You think the school that's made 1 out of 46 tournaments doesn't know how hard it is to make the playoffs?

A lot of positive stuff from the TCC camp today. If I hear about how good their QB is gonna be or how great of a defensive mind Dusty Braun is one more time I may scream! But I am glad that there is a ton of excitement around that program this year.

Hiland should join a conference that has soccer and tennis like they do.. Perhaps ECOL... Oh that's right, other leagues probably wouldn't let them in because they do not have football.

Would be interesting to see if Hiland sports such as basketball and baseball would fall off if the school adopted a football program. Would be tough to play 100+ baseball games in the summer and fall if football practice was going on. Same with Basketball.

kudos to the league for keeping Hiland involved and giving them a vote on anything.

The new set up does fill a league schedule and ease transportation for hiland in the other main revenue sports.
thats about all that can be said until they get a football team and that doesn't look to happen anytime soon.

Would be great competition for ECOL, however doubt feedback would be very positive relating to travel..Marietta to Hiland? Yikes. And of course, it certainly is football driven.

Hiland in basketball does have great competition in the IVC, they haven't won the league now for 2 years.
Hiland getting to pick and choose where they are though does not seem fair.
