Piqua (5-3) @ Tippecanoe (4-4)

This should be a really good game. I think both teams are fairly even and if Tipp didn't have so many injuries I would say they would be the favorites. With that being said Piqua probably has thw advantage but Cole Barhorst is gonna lead his troops knowing this is a must win game to keep the playoff streak alive. Should be a good one at the Park.

I feel like it's impossible to know what to expect from Tipp in this one. They've competed well with Troy and Sidney, but also barely squeaked by Fairborn.

Both teams with a lot to play for

If Piqua uses a good mixture of pounding the ball with Schmeissing and Throwing it to Shrubb they will win. But Tipp will not go away easily. I think it's honestly a toss up right now

According to GWOC stats, they are pretty even offensively with Piqua ranked 12th and Tipp 14th. But defensively, Piqua is 5th and Tipp is 14th. The way Piqua played Trotwood, I'll give Piqua the edge. But I think Tipp will keep it within two scores. Piqua by 11.

If the past is any indication, Piqua should be able to throw the ball with relative ease. Tipp really struggles defending the pass.

Those teams stats don't mean much when the two teams haven't played equal schedules.

As Lee Corso says "Not so fast my friends!" It's tough going into the cow pasture and beating Tipp, especially handily. Wouldn't even be surprised to see Tipp win.

Projection:

Piqua 24
Tipp 21

Schrubb is a darn good WR. 4 TD catches against Butler. He'll be difficult for Tipp to cover.

I think this might be a high scoring affair, how Tipp is able to handle Piqua's passing attack will determine the outcome I think. Piqua has historically had trouble with defending the Wing-T and don't think it'stops this week. I think Piqua will get some stops when they need to, and be able to escape Tipp City with the win. But I don't think it will be an easy win.

Yeah, last year Piqua absolutely manhandled Tipp in the trenches but Tipp still managed to hang around the whole game just because of the Wing-T being tricky. I'm guessing we see something similar this year

I had to look to see what the score was from last year, because I had forgotten. Yes I kinda expect the same type of game from last year. This will be Piqua's first game on grass this year. Is there any actual grass still on the field in Tipp City?

Lol we will see, are you still salty about, little ole don't belong in the GWOC, Tipp beating Butler last year? Your team is sitting at a nice 3 wins with 2 more losses most likely on the way. Hyatt is a GREAT coach!!

Hayden Schrubb needs 195 yards to get to 1000. He already leads the GWOC in receiving TD's with 14 of them. Austin Davis leads the GWOC in passing TD's with 23 and has only thrown 3 INT's and (if memory serves me) two of those were at the end of the half just throwing into the endzone. He needs 473 yards over the next two weeks to get to 2000.

We will see who is salty you better focus on beating Piqua for now though because you have your hands full in that one. Hyatt is a GREAT coach thank you for noticing. He is is an impossible situation and doing a GREAT job. It's not all about wins and losses. He is teaching his players how to be winners in the classroom and more importantly in life. And next Friday he's going to give a clinic on how to kick some Red Devil you know what!

...and this relates to this thread in what way?

As for the game tonight, I think it'll be a close one, with Piqua coming out on top. If Tippecanoe was at full strength, I might pick them to win, but Piqua has looked like the better team most of the season, with the exception of squeaking by Butler last week on some good fortune.

How is he in a impossible situation? He took over a team that went to the playoffs the year before. His Senior and Junior class has been winners through pee wee, middle school, Freshman, and JV. He has been a teacher in the district for years so he knew the district, the students, and the administration. So I am a little confused what you are talking about.

Well that escalated quickly!

As far as Tipp and Piqua go, I expect a tight game and I like Tipp in this one.

Just looking at the box score, this looks like it played out pretty similarly to last year. Piqua dominated the game but Tipp did just enough to hang around for most of it
