For some reason I can't remember so correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Perry win it last year? I think they are the front runner, atleast until everyone starts playing the games.

Actually, GlenOak and Perry shared the league title last season with 5-1 records.

#1 McKinley or GlenOak

#3 Perry
#4 Lake
#5 Jackson
#6 Hoover
#7 Green

In reality, Mck, GO, Perry & Lake could all win it. Lake is the only team I'm not sure about as far as who's returning but they put out some tough kids so I'm not counting them out.

This. Lake always plays sound defense with tough kids. But, like most Federal League schools not named McKinley (or GlenOak of late), the talent at the skill positions goes in cycles. I expect the Pups to improve in Reardon's 2nd year.

GlenOak always seems to have some skill and speed, it's just a matter of putting it all together and playing as a team. Perry has a decent nucleus returning but has some rather large shoes to fill with the departure of Mr. Football. It will be telling to see how they start the season after last years trip to the State Finals.

I think it comes down to McKinley and either Perry or GO. And if anyone makes it through the league schedule unscathed, they will have earned it and should expect a decent post season run.

Hard to believe, but Lake hasn't won a Federal League football title since '98.

That does seem crazy that Lake hasn't won a league title since then. I have a lot of respect for Lake. They always play hard nose football and are well disciplined. I bet that most years Lake would make some serious runs in the playoffs if they could have gotten more points to get there.

I voted McKinley because of the Reardon factor in year two.

Actually the way the fed does it we could have quad champions. I don't like the way they do it, other than that I think the fed is a top 25 league in the state.

It most likely comes down to a combination of the top teams and their head to head games. GlenOak, McKinley, Perry and I think Lake is a wild card. Mark your calendars when these 4 teams play each other.
Obviously it's early and we are not taking any surprises in the equation like injuries, late move ins or shocking upsets/bad starts.
Should be an interesting season.

The changes will become alarmingly clear within a couple years. No one in northeastern stark county or Ohio can offer what the dawgs will be able to offer the talent in the area.Like I said , Get used to it.

That's not true.

Although facing tougher competition at Massillon could give everyone, including Jamir himself, a better idea of his abilities

I would love to know what will cause these changes. According to some folks you already had the best high school stadium in the country so having a new one built for you shouldn't make a big difference and I don't think McK. will suddenly become the number one place around to get an education so please let us in on the alarming new changes.

I can't blame the top two guys for wanting to leave the FED,a lot of teams in the NBC are having the same problems in their league as McK., since they kicked Louisville out maybe you could take their place and you might not finish last in the all sports awards.

Congrats. Jackson has tremendous country club sports. Basketball and baseball are good too. Why is their football program so below average? Since this is a federal league FOOTBALL thread.

Offer the talent in the area? This isnt college. They already got the death penalty once for playing that game.

Alzheimer's? Not. You're just a birdbrain. You would never pass an "Early College" class @ Canton McKinley.

Yes I'm a Massillon fan.Eagle 62's not a birdbrain.I believe there's going to be a renaissance of canton football. The facilities they are building will be second to none.A lot of talent will be passing through all of the programs that will be instituted. Some of that talent will stick. The majority of cantons 1100+ boys will want to be a part of this. Soon the talented kids in the area will want to be there.Any transients will gravitate also.Coach Reardon knows how to run a program. This all has the potential for McKinley to be an impact nationally.Where does all this leave Massillon ? The Tigers will always be competitive. The Massillon / McKinley game will always be the greatest show in high school football.
