Favorites for DIII

Kenston was scary good last year. They had a weird loss to Chardon in the middle of the season, but absolutely tore through the playoff field. Any chance another team unseats them this year? Who’s the favorite for each region?

Looks like Steubenville will be DIII this year, but don't know how competitive they'll be.

If STVM can qualify for the playoffs they will have a very talented front 7 on defense. The Irish also return a 4 year starter at QB and RB. The Offensive Line will have great size but can they pass block . The Cupboard is very young at Wr and CB (3 D1 level athletes transferred out to play basketball elsewhere. Facts

3 D1 level players transferred out so they can play basketball elsewhere? So are these D1 level football players who decided to leave St V so they can play basketball?? I am a little slow I guess, but if u are a D1 level football player, why would u leave to play basketball? So these transfers want to play basketball at the next level? Or football? Not trying to be difficult, just trying to understand. Where did they transfer to?

Kenston basically returns an entire offense that absolutely lit up everyone they played. They should be considered heavy favorites going into next season. Alter should be right there with them as well. St. V needs to get into the playoffs first before they can be considered for anything, and having Massillon and Hoban on the schedule again means at best they're looking at 8-2 (and 8-2 is no guarantee for playoffs in that stacked region). Right now it's a two horse race with Kenston leading the pack.

Kenston is probably the favorite but 2019 will be tough. Kenston will have to go through SVSM, Hartley, and TCC/Trotwood. Those private schools will be hungry next year for having down a down year

Ok first of all not all D1 Football
Player Prospects choose Hoban over everyone else. Now the players WR 6-4 195 Jalen Ross Canton McKinley multiple D1 Football Offers. CB WR Deshawn Jones 5-11 180 Akron East multiple D1 Offers including Big Ten Schools. CB WR Amarion Robinson 5-10 185 Akron East also D1 FCS Offers. All left as they were
Promised immediate basketball playing time. All three are exceptional athletes and would have been starters in Football for the Irish in 2019. Wishing all 3 of them Good Luck. There are Irish transfers starting in multiple different programs this fall and winter. Fact.

STVM probably isnt making the playoffs again with their top heavy schedule, so they wont have to worry about them to be honest unless they can upset Washington or Hoban. Obviously there will be other hungry schools, but as of now Kenston is the clear favorite. They didn't even have a close game in the playoffs last year.......

I would agree Kenston is the top dog until proven otherwise. As far as contenders, I thought I read Wapakoneta returns a bit, as do the Norwalk Truckers. Truckers return 8 on D, 7 on O, and Special Teams from Final Four squad.

Kenston lost their top receiver, linebacker and an excellent 6-4 310lb lineman. Last year's junior class is just so loaded. That OT Sell already has double digit D-1 offers. Mintz, Porter and the QB are going to be even better. Then again, Chardon surprised them with a back up QB playing most of the game.

They’ll compete, but not a realistic chance to win it at all

Idk. With that stud RB coming back they may have a very good chance to at least make a run/have a shot. That kid was the second best player I seen last year after Waid. I think he was only a sophomore.

They almost got bounced week 11 at home as well.

Then they didnt have a game closer than 25 points after week 11. That has to be unprecedented how badly they rolled the rest of the playoffs. Good luck stopping this offense again next year. They return a loaded senior class.

Kenston the fav. SVSM will be the most tested if they can survive their schedule. Anyone else have the balls to schedule Hoban and Massillon? Although Hoban a rivalry game they always play.

Toledo Central Catholic was DII in 2018. Are they dropping back into DIII this season?

Alter will be down this year. Wapak was average. I think Norwalk should get back to the semis. Kenston should be the heavy favorite next year.

The problem with St. V is that they HAVE to beat one of Hoban or Massillon to get in. I dont think 8-2 gets them in the playoffs in that stacked region.

Alter down this year? Really? How many losing seasons have they had in the last 20 years? I would be surprised if they didn't make the playoffs.

Olentangy Berlin will surprise this year after going 1-9 last year in their 1st season. Finally have a senior class and have one of the state's best QB and WR combos in D3 for certain. They will beat some of the D1 teams on their schedule this year and make the playoffs. Undersized line will probably prevent them from going too far, but it's going to be a fun, offensive team to watch (if it doesnt rain every friday like it did last season).

I guess they can bump up 2 divisions now. So they should be D2. Didn’t realize they changed that

I would think they will be D2 next year. They have 466 boys but they could do well in D2 since they are basically a D1 OCC school in D2
