Hoban 2019

Does Hoban have anyone "moving in" next season?

At least it looks like they filled week 1, I was wondering if they were going to find any takers at this point. That Harrisburg team is no joke, Hoban won't be able to ease themselves into the regular season after losing 21 seniors, plus a couple of very talented underclassmen for various reasons.

What is the name of the Harrisburg school you are referring to?

The skilled positions are still loaded, I look forward to see what they do up front on both sides of the ball... the 2021 class is still loaded...The kids no longer there could hurt next year, but I think they should still be pretty good.... Should be a shutdown defense... Too many athletes on the defensive side of the ball...

Of course Hoban will be dominant again. They reload, not rebuild.

Skilled positions loaded. Comes down to how the line develops’s on both sides of the ball. Best coaching and weight staff/program in the state will put them in contention for a 5th state title. 5-6 D1 athletes and more coming up through the ranks.

RB looks a lot thinner than it has in a while, as they recently lost what was going to be half of their two-headed monster at that position. Need to be careful with Trayanum's carries if he's still going to play a lot of defensive snaps.

We are all most confident that the 7-3 Irish who failed to make the playoffs will rally to beat the reigning repeat state champions. Even the most zealous of Irish fans would disagree with you.

I also feel obligated to point out that you've all missed the most obvious reason for Hoban's continued success- THE WEIGHTROOM.

Hoban has a RB on the other side of the ball thats 200+ that can handle the roll if needed.... So I wouldn't say it's that much thinner....He didn't run last year, I do believe he was learning a new position on Defense.... I think a lot of you have forgotten that hes in the stable...

Hoban will grab another D2 state title in 2019. Having watched them roll two very good Avon teams in the state-semi's the past two seasons, I have a deep appreciation for just how loaded the Knights program is now.

How did Hoban lose half on the two headed monster?

He played some, he got hurt late in the season. He just couldn't crack the regular rotation because the other two were so good. In think he's a big loss, he's a really good back and an absolute load. Nice kid, too.

According to the Massillon thread they are going to be even better this year so I would just plan on Hoban being 2nd in the state a best. Their kids are lifting weights and running track so they are the best.

In all fairness though, regardless of what Hoban or any other team in d2 has graduating or returning, I will maintain that Hoban is the favorited team to win it all. I believe any defending champion earns that distinction as next years favorite, regardless of what they lose to graduation.
