I agree, A.J. Hawk was probably the most versatile player Centerville ever had.

27 players from Canton McKinley went on to play in the NFL.

Some of them had to be pretty good when playing for McKinley.

Hell, I don't know.

I agree, I went to school with Franklin and Mauger. You could add Brian Gamble and Zwick to that list as well

Yeah, TTUN record and bowl record. South Carolina was icing on the cake. I think Cooper would have been fired no matter the outcome of that last two bowl games, but I will admit Brewer kicking our certainly didn't help Coach Cooper much. I still liked Coach Cooper though. Those Eddie George years were fun watching Buckeye games with my Dad. The Rose Bowl vs Jake Plummer and Pat Tillman and AZ St is still my fav Buckeye game. With the 2002 Hurricanes, and 2014 Bama playoff game a close second.

Middletown, easy Cris Carter, NFL hall of fame, also played PG on runner up state basketball team and won a couple state championships in track. Probably best all round athlete in school history.

Excellent choice. Having said that Todd Bell would be neck and neck with him for best athlete. Also an amazing football player and did break Jesse Owens state record for long jump.

well I'd have to stick with Heath Harding who is at Miami, but there is an up and coming little guy who goes by DiMario. 'round here they call him the Italian stallion. Quite the slot receiver.

By sheer numbers, at Greenville it was Zach Melling. I believe he owns every single rushing record plus a few others. But the most successful after high school is no question, Matt Light.

66 City Champions. Al Bundy ran over Spare Tire for the game winning TD if I recall? And they called him spare tire because he wore one as a necklace.

Antione Winfield...Akron Garfield...best defensive high school highlight film ever...not to bad on offense either...He was Ohio's defensive player of the year....the offensive player of the year was Charles Woodson...maybe Winfield was a better high school defensive player than him...Akron Garfield didn't even go to the playoffs when he was defensive player of the year...ask anyone in Akron or Canton (McKinley or Massillon) about Winfield.

Ben Mauk wasn't too bad from Kenton...most passing yards ever in high school from any state all time? And he won a state championship at Kenton.

Defense - Antione Winfeild - Akron Garfield
Offense - Ben Mauk - Kenton

Steubenville..... nearly impossible to choose, but if forced it would have to be Calvin Jones, great two way lineman for the Big Red and Iowa 2 time All American and Outland Trophy winner.

For Toledo Central Catholic, a few that come to mind: Deshone Kizer, Michael Warren, Dane Sanzenbacher, Ryne Robinson.

Cardinal Mooney: Ted Bell (1971 thru 1973) Mooney's all time leading rusher, Parade All American, brought Mooney their first State Championship in 1973 vs. Warren Western Reserve.

My knowledge of Dover football before 1999 is limited so since then I have to think Perci Garner with 8,000+ yards and 80 TD passes in 2 seasons puts him amoung the best.

I was just getting ready to post that my knowledge of Dover only goes back to around 2002, but Cory Contini is the best football player I've seen in that time.

Nordonia - Easily Jordan Mabin

I just noticed Mitch Trubisky is being coached by Bears QB coach and St. Ignatius Alum Dave Ragone from Louisville.

We might also get different opinions on this depending on who posts.

But my top 2 that I was able to watch:

Ben Snell
Vince Gliatta
Hard to argue against Page, and I'm not going to be the one to do it.

Honorable mentions to Roger Duffy and Gliatta. Gliatta is probably the best skilled position player to ever play for CCC. He's the school's all-time leader in career passing yards and was just 13 yards shy of also being the career rushing leader - that distinction belongs to Gliatta's teammate Marques Warner.

It is a shame to see Wade E Miller go. My dad took me to watch The Middies when Carter was there. It would be packed out and when Carter took one to the house the place went crazy. Great times.
