False!!!! Just because you didnít like the position or playing time that your son received does not mean that Derge is a bad coach. Your son just wasnít that talented. Get over it and move on.

Derge would add greatly to any staff he joins!!! Shame of it is that Tipp parents, like this guy, ruin Tipp sports and the community with their lack of realistic expectations!!!!

I agree that Derge would only add value to the team. Tipp would be lucky for him to stay on staff. Not many people share his sentiments that Derge should be completely gone. The expectations part I sort of disagree with because I truly believe Tipp can have consistent success and make the playoffs annually. If you disagree thatís fine but Iíve seen Tipp compete and be in games till the end with some of the least talented rosters they have had in a long time.

Who is going to be the next Tipp AD to take Foust's place? He did a great job, is this a hire within scenario?

They should make one call with an offer to correct their past error. But the more likely scenario is that they select Matt Burgbacher and he does FB and AD.

Maybe his dad would be a good AD? He knows the school and community well because coached and taught there for a long time. Im not sure if Minton would want to give up coaching just yet, but he could be a good candidate? I heard that Minton doesnít actually have the license that ADís are supposed to have and that was one of the problems from Wayne.

I would assume that's what they meant as well.

I believe he could do a good job as AD at Tipp again.

However, the way his whole situation went down with the district, I doubt he would want the job back.

Does he even still live in Tipp? He teaches at Belmont now.

Itís understandable that you canít think of a lot of names. I mean at 20 or 21 years of age, most would be thinking of finals or graduation, but youíre thinking of ADís names. ? Oh you kids.

I wouldn't waste any sleep on it. I'm sure Tipp will get many qualified applicants. You need to be studying for finals - I can't believe this thread is still going. Amazing.

Come on. HSFootballFan is Matt Shomper. It doesnít take a Private Investigator to figure this out. Look at his post history.

Thereís almost zero chance they hire HSSportsfan/Shomper.

Not Matt Shomper. Good guess. Agree, no chance they hire him and no chance he applies.

My views about Derge are not based on position or playing time of my son

Things that have happened under his "leadership" are my issues.
Treatment of players that are not my child are included in that.

Things he allowed "his" coaching staff to say and do around and to players.

The inmates ran that prison not the warden.

You sir are correct my son is not that talented. I have no issues with that. I do not live through my child as some do. I am 100% ok with his lack of talent.

I will move on and get over it when he is no longer an option to be on the coaching staff.

I will also value your 'Opinion" which you are entitled to. When you move to this community..

Interesting rumor out there is that they are going to go a season with no AD and see if they can get away with a panel of parents, and one trainer. They seem to know it all over there anyways, could really do the kids some good. Can you imagine how many DI athletes will be pouring out now. Very excited for the future of tipp athletics.

Tipp sports has had 8 D1 athletes over the last two senior classes. That is pretty good for a small D3 school

Zach Losey - Ball State (Baseball) 18í
Ian Yunker - Morehead State (Baseball)19í
Kenten Egbert - Miami (Baseball) 19í
Maddie Fredericks - Iowa State (Basketball) 18í
Alyssa Buynack - Air Force (Swimming) 18í
Claire Hinkle - Pittsburgh (Soccer)18í
Mathew Garber - Jacksonville (Football) 18í
Katie Taylor - High Point (Cross Country) 19í

Very nice. That is about average though for the GWOC size schools. Some great schools and athletes for sure though.

Potential records next 5 years with the TPNPSPOF (Tipp parents never played sports panel of friendship) committee running things vs. an AD.

Football - 50 - 0
Basketball - 88 -0
Baseball - 94-10. (All loses to Vandalia).

-- Other random outcomes if Tipp parents run things --
Draft picks 1st round NBA, MLB, NFL -23
US Senators - 52
Nobel Prize for physics - 3
Found Drogon - 1

Since this is a football thread I will Address Gerber. Good LB, hope he gets a chance to play.
However, I am clearly referring and poking fun at the idea that typical tipp parents think more of their student athletes than the world does. No disrespect to them, but letís focus on reality. Happy for the devils though, you must be proud of the job you do in the weight room.

Sounds about right. You just missed the Oscar winner, Miss America and voted #1 city to live in, in the USA.

I'm pretty sure Matt Garber dropped down to Division 2 and transferred to Ohio Dominican over in Columbus for the upcoming season.

Good school...but ouch TippIsAverage isnít going to like that. Gerber must not come back and workout in the ol HS weight room to inform him of the transfer.

Tipp had more D1 athletes across sports the past two years than Butler and the same amount as Troy. Your narrative is false, yes Matt transfered to be closer to home, that doesnít take away the fact that he signed to a D1 program

Any Pioneer league football program, like Jacksonville, is only really D1 on the surface. It's non-scholarship, so essentially no more incentive than a D3 school can offer. The level of play in the Pioneer league is better than most D3 schools, but far worse than any other D1 conference.

It's still a significant accomplishment for Matt, but I'd say it's a step below all of the other D1 commitments you mentioned.

That kind of continues the fact that Tipp has had very few (if any?) D1 scholarships accepted for football. A number of D1 players, but all that I can remember have been walk-ons, PFL or Ivy League.

Just saw who is going to be coaching this year on staff. Charlie Burgbacher, Rick Robertson, Kyle Corbin, Hunter Folkertsma, Sean Ford, Craig Syphrit, Scott Butera, Joel Derge. Experience group at the top end! Thoughts???
