Every facet of the game is quite poor this evening. Perhaps the most embarrassing performance in years

Kyle needed to go for it when Ignatius had the chance to takr the lead.

Honestly Ignatius looked terrible tonight.

Worst performance I've seen since 2015. They will be lucky to finish 8-2.

I am certain the Crusaders came to play on Friday evening, but the Wildcats have far too much talent to be concerned...they will compete for a title in 2017 in Region I, as will 7 other quality opponents. Bottom line, a team can ill afford both turnovers and penalties against any opponent without jeopardizing a victory, nonetheless against a quality opponent like Moeller.

The X game will be interesting...Kyle could play it conservative and run the ball, play solid D, and keep it close while his kicking game is asked to win the game late.

Personally, I prefer to get a loss in the regular season...its very tough to run the table in the regular and post season in advance of winning a championship. 15-0 is a tall task for any program.

Go Eagles!

Watch what Eds does to Moeller when they come to Lakewood this week.

Moeller dominated the St Ignatius offensive line, X will do the same.

Hard to look any thing but average when a HS team's offense is down to their 4th Qb who wears #86 and play's WR.

Moe Defense Line was anything but average and the difference in the game. Total domination along with a secondary that played well too. Moe's victory was no fluke .

Easy now. They did a great job last night to save the program a little face and fight off another losing season but lets win another game first before we get too carried away.

GBM!

I don't either. Other that some of Moeller's players finally started playing like that are capable, especially defensively and especially their defensive line which is supposed to be the strength of their team. Could also be, Ignatius is not as good up front as everyone thought?

I'm not saying Moe gets hot and makes a serious run in November, especially with their QB issues, but last night their defensive line finally got after it physically.

Exactly. The ignatius offensive line is not that good and the Moeller line dominated.

Nice win for Moeller but we'll see where St Ignatius ends up and we'll also see a much different result when the Crusaders visit Eds this weekend.

But I thought Hall played well overall through the first 3 games against some pretty athletic defenses.
Based on last night vs Moeller, your question appears to be still open. Wonder who gets the nod vs St. X?
Both have some positives, but also limitations + areas where improvement will be needed if the Cats are to progress in the playoffs.

Kyle's post-game comments (per the Ignatius website):

"That was a very bad first quarter, you name it, turnovers and strange penalties against a good team. We had to come out and play our best, and we certainly didn't. We had some mistakes on special teams that we have to work out.

"They (the Crusaders) came out with a purpose," Coach Kyle continued. "They know that they're a good football team and we gave them a lot of momentum. Their backs were very good. They had some speed and just when we thought we were clogging it up, bang, there they would go. Thurman broke that long run and that was pressure.

"We have a lot to work on, we have to get people healthy and back out on the field, and try to regenerate our focus a little better. We have Xavier coming in and then St. Ed's after that, so we have two amazing tests. We better fix it, put it that way."

Saw the St. X game on Spectrum. Quite a turnaround for the Cats from their terrible performance against Moeller. Hopefully the weather will cooperate for Saturday's Holy War.

Feels good to win all 3 against the guys from Lakewood. Also futbol earlier in the week. Feels like the Cats and Eagles are on a collision course for the regional finals.

Freshman won 10-7 on a late field goal and JV won 19-14. I think soccer was 4-1.

Thanks. Ignatius this year played four teams that finished with a 9-1 record -- Hoban, Mentor, X, and Ed's -- with all the losses coming at the paws of the Cats. Quite an accomplishment, no matt what happens in the playoffs.

Pay no attention to sportsbabe, she’s a mixer. She comes out of her basement a few times a season to jibber jabber...lol.
Tom 48, I’ve been following the Panthers since my playing days over 40 years ago. The last 3 seasons have been the high water mark in their history.
Two straight title appearances in D-2 with these 26 seniors should prepare them mentally for this game, but the physical and skill part is an unknown, not to mention Ignatius’s advantage in depth.
Our win over McKinley a week ago, was as good as I’ve seen them play this year. Against GlenOak last night, I thought they were a tad flat, but got it going in the second half to win 24-7.
Perry likes to run the football. They run the wing T offense. Throw about 8-10 times a game, unless they get way behind. Their objective is to keep the other teams possessions to a minimum and shorten the game.

Thanks for the info. I have no doubt that Perry will run a few long gainers. Whether Ignatius can hold them to just a few is what is left to be seen. As I have said before, Ignatius has a tendency to be flat during the first playoff game, especially against teams that they have not played before. I expect a close game. Hopefully , there will be nice weather.

Joyce, Eichenberg, and Toppin were excellent for the Wildcats.

Fattah was fabulous for the Eagles
