Regional to State times

Any statistics out there on the drop in time from Regional sites to State at Hebron? Boardman seemed to run fast yesterday compared to years past and Pickerington looked to be the fastest. Tiffin seemed to run slower than normal or is it lack of competition? Troy seemed to run equal to Tiffin, again not much competiton. Basing much of this on Division 2 results.

Tiffin was slower than normal. It was pretty muddy especially for the boys' races later in the day. This was in addition to some wind. The temperature being 20 degrees lower than any other race this season didn't help either.

Troy conditions werent that bad. My guess is that it may run 10-15 seconds slower than NTR

For what it's worth, I have data from every year 2011 to 2016. I use a model that attempt to control for conditions (only simply, by taking into account the mean the difference between predicted and actual times for each regional) at the regional meets. The model is not nearly as good for Tiffin as it is for the other three regionals (we run more teams from SW and NE than from NW, and I haven't been as diligent in the past couple years entering data from meets where we don't run at the same time that Milesplit's reliability has been declining) but here it is:
Boardman is 3.7% slower (~37s drop for a 16:30 boy, ~43s for 19:30 girl)
Pickerington is 3.1% slower (~31s drop for a 16:30 boy, ~36s for 19:30 girl)
Tiffin is 1.9% slower (~19s drop for a 16:30 boy, ~22s for a 19:30 girl)
Troy is 1.8% slower (~18s drop for a 16:30 boy, ~21s for a 19:30 girl)

It should be noted that we have not really had any bad weather for the state meet yet at National Trails. So I don't have any idea what adjusting for conditions might mean. Saturday right now looks like it won't be bad, but there is a possibility of a fair amount of rain Wed-Fri.

By Troy standards they weren't to bad. Wind was meaningful, but not extreme by any standards.

Ground was softer and more spongy than I can recall.

I thought Horter's time was pretty impressive given the conditions. Times at Troy overall were slower than normal IMHO. I don't think it was the wind, hence the ground comment.
