Troy Regional DII

Anyone want to do the math on how VOA ran vs. Cedarville?

Anyone run a virtual meet?

My guess is that Cedarville ran about 30 sec. slower than most kids season PR. To me that means it was about 20 seconds slower than Troy. VOA 10 seconds faster than Troy?

Looks like Eaton is the only team with a good enough fifth runner to compete with the Cincinnati teams. Madeira, Indian Hill and Badin will battle for the top.

Last year between the Cedarville district and the regional the boys' DII times for qualifying teams were 19 seconds slower. The boys from VOA races were 39 seconds slower.

This could mean that Cedarville is a slower course than VOA by 20 seconds. Last year the heat was a big factor for some at the regional.

The overall times at troy were way off for all races. Troy is that way. EIther super slow because of wind and heat or fast. Runners are so exposed there.

I predict a really fast year this year. Firm ground and light winds.

Oakwood had a off day at cedarville. Tipp Didnt run their #2. Shawnee 5th collapsed at the end before the finish.

Dayton teams will be up there this weekend.

Congratulations Madeira on their first regional title! Third school from the Cincinnati Hills league to win regional. Good luck next week.

Congrats to Taylor's Nick Fox (3rd) and Nick Fox (5th). Way to represent the Yellowjackets.

As a Madeira fan/associate, I thank you, yj_runfan. Madeira has actually won at least one regional title before. I know they won it in 1998 (that was a special year for the school with boys basketball also winning the regional and baseball winning state). They also have won it in 1997. Nonetheless, it's a great accomplishment for the boys and Coach Dooley. The margin of victory was pretty striking and top 3 for Madeira were all sophomores (with a junior at #5). And congrats as well to those high-placing Taylor competitors.

Sorry for that oversight. I knew they made state those years but missed they were regional champs. Hope they win the big trophy next week. That would surprise the rest of the state.

I know that this is a DII thread but are Horter's 15:02 & Gigandet's 17:51, run yesterday at Troy, course records?

Horter's was but I don't think Gigandet's was a record. I guess maybe it depends on what you are considering a course record since the course they are using now is quite a bit different than it was a few years ago.
