The Game
Dominant win last night. I can't remember a more dominant defensive performance from a Moeller team than what I saw last night. Next week is the week! I am surprised X dropped one last night to Cathedral.

Trinity lost and falls to 0-5
Clarkson North won and is 2-2

Surprising score from Thursday....LaSalle crushes Scott County 37-7. I thought that would have been closer.

17 penalties for 168 yards? It's a good thing we played a HORRIBLE team last night. You aren't going to win any of the remaining six games playing that sloppy. We have confidence but I still question the teams we have played outside of Scott County. I've seen this before, a good start to the season, before the start of the brutal next six weeks. X is going to be hungry come Friday night after their 2-2 start and loss last night. Let's go get GCL win #1. BEAT X! GBM!

X seems to be struggling offensively this year. This will likely be a very low scoring game. Luckily Moellers kicking game sounds like it's much better than X's so that should really help out.

Also can't believe we'd schedule someone like Trinity that can't win a game. Does anyone care about Harbins anymore??

ah, block M's and larger pride stickers. how the helmet should look and never change... great win against Lafayette but they are not a good team at all. moe is going to need to force turnovers against X to win.

Can I ask really quick what exactly has and is happening at the lower FROSH level?

I'm scratching my head and how and why they're getting beat so badly?

This time, it's apparent it's not a numbers or size problem?

I went to check the scores online because you said so badly- not any blowouts that I could see. Obviously winning is best but only loss by more than a field goal was Louisville St. X.

Fair that "badly" was maybe a poor choice of words...but the results are somewhat head scratching to me?

I'm just curious if there's some change of philosophies at the lower level, but I just raise my eye brows when I see those loses? Historically, the program hasn't lost those kind of games, any one know what's the deal?

I understand your point but maybe things are different at that level then back then. Just 10 years ago, crable days; freshmen rarely if ever played up. We played against darius ashley as a freshmen team and kyle rudolph (as a sophmore) even came down and played in jv games back in the day. maybe they are having some of the better freshmen play on jv or dress varsity? And i agree with kballer, not exactly blow outs.

obviously a win tomorrow would be huge. kinda wish they created a trophy for this rivalry game.

A sweep by all 3 levels of X this week- been awhile. The adjustment at the half of moving Carp to Center and shifting the remaining OLine really made a difference- wonder if they will keep this going forward? Glad Junker is ok- his length came in handy a few times last night. Feel badly for RJ not getting bigger stats but having him double teamed (plus the safety devoted to his option) opened up some other weapons. Watkins is a beast- he should get some good looks at the next level. Glad to see Hendricks get his moments to shine- he’s a hard worker and good kid.

The defense was one of the best I have ever seen in a high school game. Penalties were minimal- cleaned up a lot of the little details since the beginning of the season. God bless our kickers- so great to know they can be counted on when the chips are down! But the true difference wasn’t just the Xs and Os- they wanted this more than X did- great job by the coaches getting them ready and inspired.

The broadcast team is fantastic- keep up the good work.

Elder took the bus up today to play Ignatius. They looked like zombies on the field. Will Moeller take the bus the night before and spend the bucks for a motel or also foolishly bus up the day of the game?

The broadcast team can be a little chatty. They talk over one another at times and fail to give a description of the offensive and defensive sets prior to the play being run. Sometimes they are still talking while the play is unfolding and you have to wait for a description of what the heck just happened. Personally I would like to see a play-by-play guy and a color commentator. Everyone else should be on the field.

Solid Moeller win. Both teams play this game as if it is their last. Atmosphere was intense. I hope this rivalry never goes away.

The Moeller Defense was lights out and the kicking game was A Plus. It's good to be 1-0 in the GCL.

Moeller is now focused on LaSalle. Everything to them is the current week. They don’t care about anything else says their captains.

Great win! Like others have said, the defense played lights out again. They will need another strong performance against LaSalle while the offense tries to get things going.

Opponents
Trinity won their first game. Clarkson North won again (they won't win again for a while. Their next 3 games are against Ignatius, X and St. Frances Academy out of Baltimore). Lafayette lost

Rodenberg is having some growing pains at Lawrence Central....2-4

I saw Moeller's old defensive coordinator (last few years....name escapes me) is now coaching defense at X. It looked like he was coaching the LB's.

Carp was not moved to center @ halftime, he started there and has been for a couple of games which is surprising, not sure why that was done. Defense has been awesome, although field position has been an issue in a few of the games. Mistakes have got to be corrected as the toughest part of their season lays ahead.

Huh, my bad. I thought I saw Malone over the ball at the beginning and during all of the other games, too. I donít pay that close of attention to the lineup of the OLine each play- focused more on targets for moving the ball, so totally possible how I missed this.I know for the Scott county game when they wore the retro jerseys I lost track of who was where because not all of the #s matched up with the roster.

Is it possible they are wanting him to play that position at Michigan and that was part of the switch?

X usually plays their best defensive linemen at the nose so I think moving Carpenter to center the week prior to the X game was a move to get him ready for the X game. I think it made a big difference because now you can run left or right. He can also help the two guards. Good move by Coach Rosfeld! Let's beat LaSalle! GBM

This was the first game I was able to actually watch this year, so I couldn't tell you if they just moved him to center for the x game, but against that 3-3-5 with a 0 and 5 techs up front, if you can single block the nose your gonna open up some lanes. As redskin mentioned the nose in that defense has to be a strong player (crable used to run it) that nose is responsible for both a gaps
