Unbreakable (2000) 5/8-I'm looking forward to seeing Glass in a couple of weeks, so I thought I would rewatch this and Split before seeing the next installment. The movie is a little slow to develop, but like most M. Night Shyamalan movies the twist at the end brings it all together.

Watching this one tonight. I recently had no interest in this movie but found out last night that Jason Bateman is in it so it now becomes a must see.....

Only the brave 7/8. Excellent cast, a long movie that didn’t seem long.

I thought the editing and the music selection took away from a lot of the story and impactful scenes. Agreed on the acting.

You’re correct. At times it was hard to discern if they were in the present or in a flashback. This is just me, but it was hard to empathize with Chalamet’s character. I think I actually disliked him more than the kid from “Boyhood”

Split (2016) 5/8 Decent story with a twist at the end that ties it all together. James McAvoy makes the movie with his ability to switch between the multiple personalities. Looking forward to seeing Glass next week to see where Shyamalan takes the story.

Scream, Pretty Peggy (1973)

Horror: Peggy is ecstatic when she gets this part time job cleaning a mansion. You see she is studying art at the local college and a famous sculpture lives with his mother (Bette Davis) in this house she will be cleaning. Peggy gets a bit too nosy and discovers the mansions hidden secrets.... scream Peggy..... scream!!!! .... 4.5/8

Hatchet 4: Victor Crowley (2017)

Horror: YES, HATCHET is BACK!!!! Of course I am excited as this is one of the better slasher series. If you hear him then it is too late cause you are already dead! The only survivor of the Bayou butcher massacre returns to the scene 10 years later with a crew to discover that after 10 years of silence Victor Crowley is back..... This is a fun blood splatter flick!!! ... 6.0/8

Game Night (2018): Like Jason Bateman, so was glad to get this DVD for Christmas. Finally got around to watching it, and thought the movie was enjoyable, but somewhat forgettable. 5/8

Desolation (2017): Horror film in which a Rob Zombie look-alike stalks a woman, her son, and the woman’s best friend, as the trio hikes and camps in the remote, wooded area where the young mother wants to spread her late husband’s ashes. Had potential, but ended up being your typical, low-budget B-movie with its mediocre acting and poor editing. 4.5/8

A Quiet Place

8/8

For me this was the perfect horror movie. Highly original and keeps you on the edge of your seat through the whole movie. Who would have thought that "Jim" from the office had this in him.

Been a few years but watched Zero Dark Thirty again.
Saw a number of things I don't recall noticing the first couple of times.

Excellent movie.

Lean on Me (1989) - Good film. I wish reality was closer to the what happened in the film than what it was.

5/8

Wuthering Heights (1939) - Starring Laurence Olivier and a young David Niven, this is an outstanding adaptation.

I think this all depends on what you were thinking going into the movie. I had already heard going in that it wasn't the most accurate, and it didn't really go in depth on Freddie Mercury as far as his lifestyle and whatnot. It was basically one big concert with a lot of stuff mushed in between that didn't really make sense. However, I love the movie because I love Queen and I thought Malek was awesome just like you said. I didn't have to think a lot, and it was very entertaining to me.

Blood Fest (2018)

Horror: A teen attends a horror movie festival despite being told not to go by his father but this festival turns bloody as every thing that happens is real..... A character in this click promises the audience that this one will be more scarier than the lame tamed down versions of the new horror flicks and I guess it is only if you are a character in this film but for the rest of us it fails miserably as it turned into a comedy..... uh, comedies do not scare..... This became ridiculous but then throw in a stupid twist and you are like "why" but hey, it did have a scene of zombies vs killer clowns. The more I think about it the more I did not like it so I will just stop thinking and I suggest that to anyone who watches this...... 3.0/8

Devils of Darkness (UK-1965)

Horror: Paul Baxter believes that the deaths of his friends was not an accident and demands that an autopsy be done on one of the bodies.... well, when that body disappears he becomes really suspicious..... what sinister things are lurking around in the dark.... well, this one does not hide what is going on but the abrupt ending is less to be desired.... 4.5/8
