Who would have ever thought Louisville would have a wrestling team that is considered more competitive than the football team. From the outside looking in, I always felt the reputation and demands of Louisville football hindered their wrestling program.

I 100% agree, the shame is Saccoccia in Steubenville encourages his athletes to wrestle or play b-ball! Dont think it has hurt their program...

Just throwing it out there that in PA the schools do not get to choose conferences for any sports. The state has them geographically placed into sectionals within their divisions. For wrestling, they must dual the teams in their sectional. Then the rest of the schedule is open for whatever they want. Sectionals at the end of the year are those same teams.

Carrollton at Louisville is here. Should be a good overall match...Pasiuk/ Leonard should be a great match to watch.

Once again, a special thank you to Leopard Nation for his updates on twitter...had me sitting on the edge of my kitchen bar stool just waiting for the next update. Too bad the heavies didn't wrestle last, what a match that would have been to finish the night off. Congrats to Louisville on the win.

PS ^^^^Coach, Carrollton is spelled with 2r's and 2l's.^^^^

Great match between two great squads too bad a very questionable stalemate call in the Hvy match created controversy

Thought the call was boarder line, but also thought several stalling calls could have been made on Carrollton Hvwt throughout the match. Wrestling is one of the more difficult sports to officiate because everything is a judgement call. One of the better overall matches I have seen in my life from top to bottom. Little disappointed that a couple matches didn't happen, Paulus getting bumped up and Leonard also getting bumped up. Would have loved to see Paulus at 170 and Jax at 145, but it worked out for the Leopards.

I agree w/ the stalling calls. I truly felt the ref did a good job overall but he struggled in the Hvy match and itd been an easier pill to swallow ( for either side) if hed called that match as well as he did the others. I recognize that wrestling is tuff sport to call. In regards to Paulus I was hoping to see him against Daniels or A. Carrothers at 182 (both top gun placers) But in a dual Coaches bump kids around to win. I have nothing but respect for Louisville Wrestling and how Laughlin has turned that program around. Hope you guys send a lot of kids to the Schott in March!

222 think everyone got their money's worth with Leonard - Shaw match
maybe that match-up you are looking for can happen in Columbus

Daniels is 160 and A. Carrothers is 182, hopefully Louisville Carrollton have a dual match next year. Probably will see Paulus/ Carrothers at 182 next year either in a dual or Top Gun

Agree that was great match, could tell the bump in weight for Leonard started to show late in match. Like seeing even weight matchups was my point. Two good teams that will be represented in Cbus by at least a couple kids from each school.

Seems like the upsets at 138 and 220 we're the difference

Match started at 145, it was clinched at 132. Rutledge wrestled his butt off.

Anyone have a box score from Canton South vs Alliance on Jan 4th? I know it was weeks ago, but curious who won between Williams (CS) and Young (All), if the match occurred.
