KBD going from a fringe draft pick to what looks like a sure fire draft pick. Hes got the size and ability to play at the next level, but hes showing some aggressiveness this year. Huge win for the Bucks!

+1. Gene obviously knows what he's doing overall. Some of the hires haven't been that great, but he has gotten the job done in the sports that matter the most.

If this is what Holtmann can do with this roster, just imagine the possibilities when he gets some real talent with a 9 or 10 deep roster. Right now, I think you'd have to say he's playing with about a 6 deep roster right now, and that's probably being generous.

My person opinion is that the team probably only has five guys who you would say are really "DI ready" players right now -- Tate, Jackson, Williams, Kaleb Wesson, and Bates-Diop. There are a few other guys who might be "ready for prime time" next year, but they're not really ready right now.

Bates-Diop looks NBA ready right now. He could be a real contributor on offense for a NBA team immediately, IMO.

Unfortunately I believe OSU is better this year than they will be next season. Doubt if KBD comes back, no Tate, where is the scoring going to come from ?

A few months ago we were so worried about this year and look whats happened,so let's enjoy the ride.It only takes a few players in hoops to change a team so he could attract some scoring.

Dakich is on a roll. He went from rarely taking shots to now being the hot hand against Maryland.

Holtmann has breathed life into this program, and is doing a great job of maximizing a thin roster.

Bucks ranked #22 in AP Poll and #12 in Andy Katz latest power rankings. Didn't think I'd be typing either of those things at any point this season

Pretty shaky game tonight. KBD only has 10 points with about 3:30 left and the Buckeyes cling to a 9 point lead.

I think they pretty much need him to get 20+ to put teams away.

The lack of a true ball-handler is killing them tonight. Can't handle the press at all.

Never thought Potter would be the leading scorer in a close win,if he can play more minutes the BIG man would be stronger in the fourth quarter.

First Ohio State coach in 95 years to start 7-0 in conference play. Between what Holtmann is doing off the court and what he's done so far this season on the court is nothing short of wildly impressive. I figure at this point they'd have 1 or 2 wins in conference play. Gene starting to look like a genius with this hire.

Yes.

Always like to see scoring spread out among players. I counted seventeen assists on thirty-two made goals. I'm don't know what is considered good %-wise, but it is nice to see a healthy number of assists. Wish Braxton had not gone to NC State (~ 10ppg, 4apg, 2rpg), but that is water over the dam. Love how the Bucks are representing!

Thanks for the box scores, YJ.

I agree with you there. Don't forget they lose Williams as well to graduation.

Potter, Andre Wesson, Young, and Jallow are really going to have to step it up with their development in the offseason this year. I think Kaleb Wesson and Jackson are capable of picking up the scoring load, but they're going to need to get some leadership on the defensive end for next year.

While Tate tends to foul a lot, his energy on defense really helps things get going on that end of the court for the Buckeyes. Thankfully, the Washington kid they recruited from Sierra Canyon HS in CA is a true PG. So, at least that issue is getting addressed in this year's recruiting class. That will allow Jackson to slide to the 2 most of the time, and become more of a true scorer.

OSU moves to 17-4 and 8-0 in the Big Ten. Both ESPN & CBS have them as a 5 seed in their current bracket.

Holtmann should absolutely be in consideration for national COY.
