Looking for Series to watch.

I just finish watching True Detective, Silicon Valley, and Shameless.

I am looking to watch another series on the HBO, Showtime, or Cinemax...

Gimme some suggestions.... Prefer something that has a beginning and an ending so nothing that got cancelled without closure....

Yes, I have seen Game of Throwns, Sopranoes, Penny Dreadful, Curb, Eastbound, Entourage, and some others...

I did watch Deadwood a long time ago but stopped during season 3, is it worth finishing?

I've been watching "Billions" on Showtime for the past few weeks. There are only two seasons and it's not complete series. Season 3 starts in March.

It's about ultra-rich hedge fund managers and the District Attorney that is chasing after them.

You have already viewed a very good list of series. I would agree with the suggestion of " Billions" on Showtime as an excellent choice to add to your list.

Some others that I've seen over the years and would recommend as possibilities would be:

HBO:

Boardwalk Empire
The Wire
Oz
The Young Pope
Big Little Lies
Larry Sanders Show

SHOWTIME :

Homeland
The Affair

You also asked whether to continue watching Season 3 of " Deadwood" on HBO and I
would recommend watching season 3, but that ended up being the final season and
really there was never a closure to the series as everyone was expecting a fourth and final
season, but it never happened. The third season was still good, but left you wanting that
final season.

Peaky Blinders. There are three full seasons on Netflix and the fourth season is currently underway.

It's about an organized crime family in England after WWI.

I thought Sopranos and Mad Men were fighting for the top spot until I stumbled on to the Wire, the thing about this show is it is better when you watch it additional times and move beyond the plot to pick up the nuances of the writing and characters. I cannot think of a single series that has better characters than this one and the way they are developed makes you connect with them that no other series has done for me.

Just a typical work day at the local Heroin Store:

In the middle of the first season of Goliath (on Amazon) and it is pretty good.

I loved Boardwalk Empire.

Goliath is great. Atlanta is good too. One of the best series Iíve seen this year is handmaids tale.

Breaking Bad
The Wire
Justified
Stranger Things
Better Call Saul

All of these have such great and memorable characters.

Also if looking for something short and quirky Deadwood is a great series, Very vulgar Shakespeare like dialogue with a lot of great acting in this one. Bonus points that the rumored follow up movie will finally start shooting later this year.

For what it's worth, this is probably the only thing you have ever posted that I agree with.

So I guess there is some hope for you.

I'm going to finish Deadwood.

Thanks for the suggestions.

If I can renegotiate my contract with Spectrum and keep these channels I'll have plenty of time to watch other suggestions....

Both are a bit dated now but still are incredible, but I loved both The Wire and Californication.

Would that be classified as a docu-drama, or is it pure fiction ?

Definitely jumped the shark season 6. I only watched it again because my wife had never seen it. She loves Skaarsgard (Eric) so she suffered through it just to see him without his clothes on.

Pay attention to Michael B. Jordan's performance as Wallace, one of many great acting jobs but you can see his future would be very bright.

Sherlock, I don't think that's been mentioned yet. Has four seasons but it's only 15 or so episodes.

Like vamp, I started The Wire recently also. I'll try to track Michael B. Jordan. Thanks for the tip.
