Lowellville got a scare from Sebring, trailing in the 4th before storming ahead to continue their excellent year. Western Reserve got revenge against Springfield in a tight game. McDonald and Waterloo cruised against ridge and Milton respectively.

1. McDonald 13-1 (9-0)
2. Lowellville 12-2 (8-1)
3. Western Reserve 8-5 (7-3)
4. Springfield 8-6 (6-4)
5. Waterloo 5-7 (4-5)
6. Sebring 6-9 (2-8)
7. Mineral Ridge 5-12 (3-8)
8. Jackson-Milton 1-13 (0-9)

Tuesday has the top 4 all facing bottom 4 teams, but next Friday will be a big day with Springfield vs Lowellville and WKBN game of the week McDonald vs Western Reserve. As we head towards tournament time every win is critical as it pertains for seeding.

Updated with Saturday games.

Read that Rasile needs 45 pts to have 1000 for his career. Just a sophmore..wow!!! Last night Beedle had 4 3's. If they can get more scoring like that from him to complement top 2 scorers McDonald gonna really be hard to beat.

Thank you! I have been trying to keep up but travel for work among other things have kept me behind, so I was going off what the papers were putting as teams records in the write ups.

As we get near tournament time looking at the Struthers district the seed voting for seeds 3-8 will be incredibly interesting with a bunch of teams with near equal records from a variety of leagues. McDonald and Lowellville likely will be the 1 and 2 seeds (Lowellville probably got a chance at the 1 if they can get a win over McDonald on 2/6). After that we have:

Wellsville 12-6 (really unsure of their record)
Western Reserve 8-5
Valley Christian 9-5
Springfield 8-6
Lisbon 8-6
East Canton 5-5 (closest I can find for a record)

After that Sebring probably gets the 9, St Thomas the 10 (whoever gets them as a draw will be pretty unlucky), Leetonia 11, JM 12, Heartland 13.

Wellsville record is 12-3. They are tied with Toronto & United @ 10-2 for 1st place with 2 more league games for each team.

Have to think Wellsville is the favorite for the #3. Maybe Western Reserve makes a push if they beat McDonald on Friday? I doubt any team will want to see Valley Christian early in the draw.

The top 4 all took care of business by double figures tonight as they head into the big Friday night as mentioned above. Also should be noted again the McDonald at Western Reserve game will be televised live by WKBN as game of the week.

Updated standings as we head to the home stretch as everyone only has 3-4 league games left. Still 3 teams mathematically alive for the league championship

1. McDonald 14-1 (10-0)
2. Lowellville 13-2 (9-1)
3. Western Reserve 9-5 (8-3)
4. Springfield 9-6 (7-4)
5. Waterloo 5-8 (4-6)
6. Mineral Ridge 5-13 (3-9)
7. Sebring 6-10 (2-9)
8. Jackson-Milton 1-14 (0-10)

Are they really? Both yappi's and maxpreps records looked incomplete but both showed 5 losses for the Tigers. If Wellsville is 12-3 then they'll likely be the 3 seed.

From talking to a few folks my best guess is Wellsville sits at 12-6. Is there someone who can confirm that record?

I checked today's Lisbon Morning Journal.....Wellsville's record is listed at 12-6. Logic you were right good call. From the same paper Leetonia is 2-14.

Still crazy that they've been able to get in 18 games, most everyone else is sitting at 14-16. Anyway, they play Lisbon on Friday in a crucial game as it pertains to seeding.

McDonald coach Jeff Rasile is completely off his rocker. In the midst of hanging a phony AP State title banner (when the team didn't even make it out of regionals), Rasile has now taken to social media to argue with former players over a couple shot discrepancy in his sons shooting stats!!

The 2 front runners in the league both got big wins, but in very different fashion. McDonald led by double figures most of the way with 4 guys scoring 15+ in a 67-51 win over WR. Lowellville, however needed a buzzer beating layup to beat Springfield. Elsewhere Ridge and Waterloo had double digit wins over Milton and Sebring.

1. McDonald 15-1 (11-0)
2. Lowellville 14-2 (10-1)
3. Western Reserve 9-6 (8-4)
4. Springfield 9-7 (7-5)
5. Waterloo 6-8 (5-6)
6. Mineral Ridge 6-13 (4-9)
7. Sebring 6-11 (2-10)
8. Jackson-Milton 1-15 (0-11)

Lowellville travels to McDonald on Tuesday. A McD win would pretty much wrap up the league championship (they'd just need to beat Sebring in a makeup to win it). A Lowellville win would make the makeup game on 2/23 for the league championship.

McDonald beats Lowellville 71-62. Devils led by double figures almost the whole way but big rockets runs late in the 2nd and 4th quarters kept them in contact

Springfield and WR dominated Waterloo and JM respectively, and Sebring got a 5 point win over a MR team that's improved a lot throughout the season.

McDonald now as wrapped up at worst a share of the MVAC title, and just need to win 1 against Sebring/Lowellville for the sole championship.

1. McDonald 16-1 (12-0)
2. Lowellville 14-3 (10-2)
3. Western Reserve 10-6 (9-4)
4. Springfield 10-7 (8-5)
5. Waterloo 6-9 (5-7)
6. Mineral Ridge 6-14 (4-10)
7. Sebring 7-11 (3-10)
8. Jackson-Milton 1-16 (0-12)

Springfield beat Waterloo in the only league game tonight. Elsewhere we kinda had a MVAC vs EOAC night. Lowellville edged United in a game between the #2 teams in each league 65-64. McDonald and Western Reserve got double digit wins over a Columbiana and Crestview. Lisbon won comfortably over Mineral Ridge. Haven't saw any scores for Sebring or JM.

McDonald can wrap up a sole league championship on Tuesday with a win over Sebring.
1. McDonald 17-1 (12-0)
2. Lowellville 16-3 (11-2)
3. Western Reserve 12-6 (9-4)
4. Springfield 11-7 (9-5)
5. Waterloo 6-10 (5-8)
6. Mineral Ridge 6-15 (4-10)
7. Sebring 7-12 (3-10)
8. Jackson-Milton 1-17 (0-14)

Tournament draw is Sunday. Valley Christian, the front runner for the 3 seed in Struthers being the only team with 5 losses coming into tonight, loses to Lake Center Christian. Now Lisbon, Western Reserve, East Canton, and VC all have 6 losses in contention for the 3, with Springfield and Wellsville at 7 losses.

Edit: updated with Saturday games

Kingpin2010: FYI, Sebring lost to Leetonia on Friday night, 62-50. That should put them at 7-12 (3-10).

And, I think Jackson-Milton is finished with league play and therefore 0-14 in league play? Can anyone confirm that?

Ok thanks I'll update. And it looks to be that they are 0-14, must have just missed updating their conference record at some point.

Also that WR win over Lisbon could've had a big impact on seeding if it happened before the voting ended.

Springfield much higher than I thought they would be, ahead of 2 teams with less losses. There will be no easy games starting at the sectional finals. Lowellville got a bad draw imo, east canton is hot and have a very good chance to beat the rockets.

Also mineral ridge got the 9 seed and plays Py Valley in the D3 warren district, Waterloo got the 10 seed in the D3 Salem district

McDonald gets the winner of Wellsville vs STA. They are gonna have a tough time vs either team. Both teams are down this year from past seasons, but both well coached. Looking at some of St. Thomas's last few games, they were competitive against VASJ and Cornerstone Christian. I think they got fewer than 5 wins but the competition they play is far better than what McDonald has faced. Devils better not overlook them and I believe game will be a close one if they play. Wellsville will be a tough out as well. Not gonna be easy road to regionals this year.

I would keep an eye on East Canton, they play in our league IVC North Division, and they are on a roll , I would not be surprised at all if they aren't in the district finials, they play there last league game Tuesday against at 18-1 Strasburg, this well tell me more, even if they would lose,I would say anything under 6 or 8 points is a big time moral victory

McDonald takes care of Sebring to clinch outright the first MVAC league championship. They can finish off a perfect league season on 2/23 against Lowellville. In the mean time they'll have 2 nice tests coming up against good Champion and Struthers squads.
