It really was, but Duvall made an absolutely terrible decision a few possessions earlier.

I know this is Duke fest and I have a bias but the Purdue games are a blast to watch. Not just their side but the other teams stepping up. Looks like a real team sport with Ohio kids playing primary roles.

I'm not convinced they'll have the same success when they meet a team with a little meat in the middle and some perimeter players. If they continue the run, the Ohio St game will be bigger than it has in quite some time.

Purdue is an interesting team, they are built like a Villanova team, mostly juniors, seniors, no drop dead NBA prospect, just a bunch of hard working, grinders who play well together. Kind of what many of us like to see in college basketball.
I haven't watched them a ton, but I know most of the personnel from the past few years. I just don't know if they can matchup with the big boys across the nation. They are very good in most areas, but not sure if they are great in anything. They are not overly athletic on the front line, or in the back court. I think this will be their ultimate demise. The big ten isn't great this year, and I think that helps them out alot. The national experts really like them, which surprises me, but then again, I'm not sure there are many really good teams this year.

Not sure we've had a year when college basketball is as wide open as this year. There are about 15 teams who could win it all. Long winning streaks are not happening this year, and that makes it very attractive for some upsets come March.

That seems spot on to me, though of course I hope they get the chance to play the big boys. But I think they are very suseptble to a hot mid-major that would also be playing a lot of experience.

I feel a mid major, with multiple smaller, quicker guards/ forwards who can shoot the 3 may be able to spread Purdue out defensively and expose them. I thought the way IU attacked them Sunday was telling. While Haas was great on the offensive end, he could not guard smaller, quicker 5's and 4's. Haarms the same way.

and even if he can, the other team will at least test the waters of refs giving them the fouls based upon how far they bounce. Dude is MASSIVE and not in a fat way.

Cinci
Xavier
Wright
Toledo
OSU

all first or second in conference. OSU playing hot with Purdue playing not so hot coming up. Toledo pretty much a lock for their half of the conference.

Pretty standard day in college hoops yesterday. Three top 9 teams lost, one won in OT, and two others won by 3 or less.

College basketball is WIDE open this year.

Thumbs up

That was a great win for St. John's over Duke yesterday. St. John's is 0-11 in the Big East but they play hard and have trouble closing out games.

Tried looking up an answer online but curious if anyone has a resource for this question- how many cities have had 2 top 10 teams at the end of the regular season?

And now they knocked off Nova- talk about a team getting hot at the right time!

#1 and #3 go down last night, and Florida State hung around with #2 Virginia. March is going to be crazy.

Yeah, real excited for the tourney this year. I don't expect it but I wouldn't be shocked if we see something similar to 2014 where two middle seeds make a run for it.

At the least, the one-and-dones look to have competition fromthe 4 year players.

It's anyone's tourney.

That's why parity has become more prevalent recently. The one-and-done culture has helped mid-majors in a big way, IMO.

Fun game to watch. Carolina is actually pretty good when they play defense. Held Duke to 29 second half points. Fully expect Duke to win by 10-12 at Cameron in a month.

+1. Only the "blue bloods" can really attract the one-and-dones consistently enough to keep them towards the top of the rankings year after year after year.

does this Louisville thing need its own thread or can we discuss here?

my ? is this:

should Michigan be celebrating on campus right now? burning couches?

or is there simply just no recognized champion in 2013?

I'm surprised the Louisville sanctions haven't gotten more chatter, especially vacating a national championship.

The NCAA says there is no 2013 champion.

Vacated titles does not mean the runner-up is declared champion. It's simply vacated.

Well they didn't allow KSR into the press conference. However barstool asked some questions. One was asking if he was fired "prematurely" and Pitino obviously didn't get the joke.

Got to love his denial of everything and his end quote about lying is stupid because the truth comes out.

Wish we would have had a "I can't believe we are talking about this on the day Billy Graham died". Similar to his 9/11 comments

Not too familiar with ostarine but certain drugs can stay in your system for over a year. Especially considering that we test for picograms which is absolutely absurd on so many levels I don't know where to begin. In fact we can't even accurately test at those levels.

Just so everyone is on the same page a picogram is 1 billion times smaller than a milligram. at those levels it would have zero affect on a human. Zero
