Chop Stix is an unknown quantity at this point
Finneytown has a "club" football team on their schedule this year (Middletown Christian) so that tells me all I need to know about their prospects.

IH is looking good this year. doesn't seem like any drop off in talent. IH Vs. Wyoming should decide who wins the league, and I think it can go either way.

IH will be good but Wyoming should be the cream of the crop. 19 returning starters from a 12-1 team that has a D1 quarterback. IH will be second. Mariemont, Reading, Taylor, Madeira and Deer Park will all fight for the middle of the pack. Finneytown will continue to struggle and bring up the rear of the CHL.

So, pretty much like most other years in CHL football

9-0 Indian Hill hosts 9-0 Wyoming in week 10.
Can Indian Hill's d-line stop Wyoming's offense will be the question of the night.

exactly. its going to come down to which team can make the most plays, and how healthy they (the teams) are as a whole.

I agree. I think both will roll through non-conference and league games to square off in the regular season finale. CHCA is not nearly as good this year and the other teams in the CHL are way behind. I think IH is going to pull it off this year and go 10-0.

Did we learn anything in week one? Is Reading a lot worse than we thought? Are Norwood and Hughes worse than we thought or is DP and Madeira better than expected? Taylor weak again or is Lawrenceburg pretty good again? These things usually take a couple weeks to work out I guess.

Hughes is terrible, so you cant really make a call on DP yet. Reading was kind of surprising, but Kiner is unreal. Can't make a call on Madeira, so its like you said check back in like two weeks and we should have a better idea on the state of the league

Deer Park is improved for sure. Reading has taken a step back but should still be a middle of the pack CHL team.

Well the first test for the CHL is this weekend. I dont think CHCA is as good as they have been but it looks like they took it to Carlisle who was 7-3 last year. I think the Braves will get it done 35-14.

taylor had 8 to's vs l'burg.

l'burg got beat up by East Central the week before. BUT last year l'burg handed to the jackets. this year is this would have limited the TO's would have been a completely different game in the 2nd half. On a side note the CHL baseball player of the year took the opening 2nd half kick off 75 yards to the house!

hopefully taylor can drop NR next year (not sure if this is the 2nd or 4th year of that) adding norwood back would be good for them I think. also maybe one of the CMAC's woodward , aiken , hughes or even NCH they signed that NR deal after they had finished 2nd in the leegue and made the playoffs.

Lawrenceburg lost their first game 38 - 7 but East Central is the reigning 4A state champ in Indiana so its hard to tell. Either way, Taylor is probably still trying to rebuild.

I just moved back into the three rivers district after being out for 10+ years. I followed football/baseball all those years and will say this I think miller is one of the best things to happen to the football program in a LONG time. He has 2 other asst's from elder on the staff. the enrollment seems to go up by the week and the parents are really buying into what they are trying to build. add on top of that a top notch facility I think they are heading in the right direction.

Can't disagree but you have to give credit to his predecessor. He completely changed the culture and lead them to their first ever playoff game.

oh 100% for sure , they knew that class coming in as junior/seniors was STRONG! if you look in 2013 that class as juniors was 6-4 (3-4 in league)
they lost 3 league games by a total of like 12 or 13 points total AND waxed IH by 30+ that year.

from 2011+ minus a few butt kickings from Wyoming Taylor was right there with the rest of the CHL

2011
lost to Mariemont by 5 , madeira by 3
2012
lost to wyoming by 1
2013
lost to Mariemont by 3, madeira by 1 , reading by 10
2014
lost to wyoming 9-7 (should have kicked a FG late in 4th) then lost to wyoming by 6 in the first round of playoffs
2015
lost to IH by 7 and wyoming/reading by 2 td's
2016 was a rough year middle of the pack
2017 rough year as well!

First CHL Divison I Quarterback ever

Is Prater from Wyoming The first CHL quarterback to be offered a divison I scholarship while in HS. I know Tony Pike and what he did but he wasnít offered while in high school. He was a gray shirt at UC. I know Ahmed Plummer from Wyoming went to Ohio State but he played defense in college. The Guys from I Dian Hill were Divison II I think. I donít think there has ever been one. Am I wrong?

I thought that Taylor had a running back that walked on at UC a couple years ago but don't see him on the roster?

Hunter Gillespie was on UC's roster in 2015. Don't think he's playing anymore.
