Yes, my adult friends and family members typically enjoy a beer or glass of wine at the high school graduation parties I've attended or hosted through the years.
Those graduation parties included St X, Turpin, Anderson, St Ursula, McNick, Ursuline, Walnut Hills, etc.
And to answer your question, no we don't drink during the event itself. Then again, I don't boo the refs at graduation services either. But the students don't need to go to their "safe spaces" because adults are having drinks at their graduation parties.

Were those parties in the parking lot outside the event?

You do know it happens at Jackson home games right?

If you really want to cry about drinking in parking lots, let's also ban tailgating at college football games as many of the players and college students are under the legal drinking age.
Or we can simply set aside safe spaces for the pearl clutching prudes, and maybe some bubble wrap for your children.

I refuse to mention any names, but one person on here would be a sopping wet blanket at any social gathering.

I usually need a Xanax before parent-teacher meetings. Kids raised by alcoholic parents who tailgate at high school games are more likely to have trouble at school than those with more esteemed parents like Mackinbiner.

May I suggest a "support group" for parents who tailgate before high school and/or college football games.

Catch 22. If you ban it at the tailgate they will just meet at the closet bar and grill and drink alot more since they will not have to hide it. Worst end result. Drunker parents at HS football games. I dont join my teams tailgate. I go to the closet bar and grill to get my buzz on before games. Hint hint

Did you just out yourself?

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Mack was never invited to any parties or tailgates in high school and he's never gotten over it. It's been 40 years, Mack. Let it go.

Split the pot is a form of gambling. That better be outlawed at high school football games. We can't let children see such ugly, life ruining vices like gambling! Think of the children!

Didn't St. Thomas have booze in the end zone a few yrs back?

The 2 (tailgate parties, where I'm sure people had drank my whole life & football) have always been hand in hand.... I really don't think it's a big deal.

they should have happy hr or maybe a few shot girls @ conferences

I've been going to the state finals for over 20 years, and have been under the influence every year. No one has been harmed.

I was in St X parking lot before swim meet last winter. Speed limit was clearly marked at 5MPH. I saw many vehicles exceeding posted speed limit in the parking lot at a high school event! Very scary!!!

This pretty much encapsulates what we all have suspected, and some have known about Mr. Lonely Mackincheese. Pretty pathetic existence to be sure.

The bigger issue is that Mackincheese has no friends and isn't invited to any tailgates yet today. Thus the bitterness of attending games alone, and then going back home to research the happenings of high school sports from two years ago. LOL.

Mackinbiner (noun, verb -ed); source - early Germanic language; meaning - prude, wet blanket; origin - Mackinbiner was one of Martin Luther's earliest Lieutenants.......he made a habit of nailing up edicts on Roman Catholic Churches where wine was consumed during mass, after all, how could one listen to church teachings if they were soused? Used in a sentence:
Guy #1: I was at the High School football tailgate last night when some guy came up and chastised me for having alcohol in my cup.
Guy #2: Man, you got Mackinbiner-ed!

Walsh Jesuit recently put up pop up signs saying tailgating is permitted; however, alcohol is not. I know parents used to get after it before the games and at half in the parking lot.

Not sure how if they actually crack down on it or not.
