Why Alabama’s football schedule won’t include Ohio State anytime soon

Alabama played a home and home with Penn State earlier this decade.
Auburn just scheduled a home and home with Penn State for early next decade.

Meanwhile, the Buckeyes haven't had a home and home with the SEC since the 80s. OSU is scared.

Recruiting grounds largely determine who they choose for their big OOC opponents. They all seem to hover around Texas amd Cali for the time being.

Didn't tOSU sign a deal with Georgia for a home/home for this decade and the Dawgs had to back out so they could adjust to a new SEC schedule?

As for 'Bama they now only play their Power 5 OOC games at neutral Southern locations; namely Dallas, Atlanta, and Orlando. From '08-'19 the only time they will have played any OOC game at another Power 5 campus location is above mentioned trip to a severely sanctioned Penn State in 2011. No way would Saban allow a LSU style neutral game against Wiscy in Green Bay. Also, wonder what folks would be thinking if tOSU played their Power 5 OOC games only in Chicago, Indy, and Pittsburgh?

While region neutral games might be better than just staying home, it in no way equates to a home and home where you agree to play a true road game. At a neutral site, it's easy to buy up tickets even if you're in an enemy "region." In a true road game, you aren't getting all those tickets. Additionally, there are more advantage/disadvantage factors than just the crowd when you travel to a road game.

Bucks cancelled due to the BIG/PAC scheduling agreement, which itself got cancelled shortly after.

I wouldn't mind seeing some more southern teams on the OOC schedule, but as long as they have at least one quality OOC game each season, I really don't care what region they come from

2022 and 2023 should be good years to have OSU season tix. Home and homes with Texas and Notre Dame. ND home/Texas away in 2022 and Texas home/ND away in 2023.

Without doubt scared to go on the road against any legit major conference opponent. All of the "neutral" site kickoff classic games in Dallas, Atlanta and Orlando bear that out.
