Chloe Dawson?

Anyone have any news on Chloe Dawson.

I thought she would be a lock to win or get 2nd at D2 state.

And maybe qualify to Nats.

She won some big races this year MMOC and had great times of 1713.

Districts- 25th place
Regional- 40th place

Is she injured or was she running in a pack to try to qualify her team to state?

I was wondering the same thing. She's a talented runner. I definitely wouldn't label her as a "lock" to win state, though. She's not yet at the same level as Beachwood's Leah Roter.

I know that the topic of times at MMOC has been beaten to death but I don't trust any of the times that were recorded that day by any of the guys or girls. Dawson ran a 17:26 that day. Her next best effort on the season was a 18:21 at Tiffin. Roter consistently ran sub-18s all season long. If Dawson ran a 17:26 at MMOC, Roter would have been under 17. I don't think that Dawson has gone 17:13 but I may be wrong.

She either is the best and bravest teammate and ran back with her teammates to help pull them through, or, her teammates came through big and qualified to the state while she was injured or sick and gave her the opportunity to get better and run at the state meet. Top 5 were freshmen. Pretty good showing at the state meet. Shows the importance of team.

Injured

I'm a good friend of Chloe's. She was dealing with a nagging injury and had to shut it down shortly after the MMOC. She ended up not running again the entire season excluding the final 3 postseason meets. Her States performance execeed many's expectations considering what she had dealt with this season. Next season, it'd be hard to imagine Chloe doesn't compete and/or win States.

She could have a good shot. The top two finishers, are seniors. I, would say it could be a toss up between her and Rulison of Beaumont...who also was hurt, (stress fracture).
