The 15s and 17s have advanced to tomorrow's title games. The 16s came up a little short, losing 1-0 today. The 16 boys also came up just short of advancing.

All 4 teams made great showings. Best to those playing tomorrow.

I guess I didn't see where it was posted saying National Champs for the 00s maybe you can show me where that is posted. Also, you should consider change your name to Pure NO class or add it as yet another name you use on here. I see you have only posted 3 times 2 of which were back to my posts one was to another poster about in the UC thread. All sounded like an angry bitter troll.

Pure NO Class in case you missed it:

00's - National Champions
02's- National Finalists
01's - 3rd place

Here is what I found. Looks like a lot of great soccer going on in our city. Congrats again to all the players.

2017 US Youth Soccer National Championships Best XI Teams Announced

FRISCO, Texas (Aug. 1, 2017) — The Best XI teams were announced for the 2017 US Youth Soccer National Championships, which took place July 25-30 at the Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco, Texas. The National Championships featured US Youth Soccer Regional Champions in the 13U through 19/20U Boys and Girls age groups, as well as the US Youth Soccer National League qualifiers in the 15U through 19/20U Boys and Girls age groups.

The Best XI team was first introduced at the 2011 National Championships. Similar to FIFA's all-tournament concept, the Best XI recognizes the top 11 performers in each age group, irrespective of their position on the field, throughout the tournament as voted by coaches of the participating teams in that age group.

The Best XI join the Golden Ball, Golden Glove and Fair Play awards given out annually at the National Championships. The Golden Ball and Glove were first awarded in 1998 to the players in each division who have the greatest competitive impact in the National Championships, and has featured winners such as Robbie Findley, Jonathan Bornstein, Freddy Adu, Jordan Morris, Lindsey Tarpley, Christen Press and Emily Sonnett.

US Youth Nationals: Girls Best XI
Article Written by Will Parchman
Published: August 1, 2017
Comments
There are few talent showcases anywhere in the country on par with US Youth Soccer’s annual National Championships.

Of course, the immediate point of the tournament is to crown champions in seven age groups on both the boys and girls sides, but as a scouting tool it’s invaluable. A collection of some of the nation’s top players converge in one spot every year, and the performances are inevitably indelible. And that was certainly the case yet again on the girls side. Since the ECNL has not prohibited play in outside leagues, some of the nation’s best players frequently find their way to this competition.

NATIONALS COVERAGE: Day 1 standouts | Day 2's big guns | Day 3's next-gen talent | Day 4 makes waves | Title-winners crowned

That, once again, was the case in 2017. What follows is TopDrawerSoccer.com’s girls Best XI from US Youth Soccer National Championships in July. It was quite a tournament, and this collection of players made sure to leave a lasting impression.

GK Mimi Stines, CUP U17: Stines’ tournament between the pipes for Cincinnati United Premier’s title-winning U17 side would’ve been notable even if it hadn’t been for how it ended. But there’s no doubting Stines put the ultimate flourish on her week in the title match. CUP and Midwest United FC couldn’t decide matters in scoreless regulation and OT, and Stines’ decisive penalty save – she only needed one – was the separator. Not only between the teams, but between her and the field as well.

D Nicole Mondi, Chicago Academy U20: While Chicago Academy’s tournament ended earlier than it would have liked, Mondi had enough time to impress upon her opponents how stern a foe she was in defense. Mondi, a 2017 Purdue commit, was uncommonly cool-headed as CA’s center back leader over the course of the week. Whatever she lacks in obvious size, she more than compensates for in tenacity and smarts.

D Taylor Bee, Arsenal (Colo.) U18: Bee played up with Arsenal’s unbelievably stout defense this year and stood out notably. She’s a 2018 committed to Iowa State, and she showed no signs of being a year behind some of her competitors in Frisco. Bee, a rangy and athletic center back who can pick out a nice pass, helmed an Arsenal back line that registered shutouts in each of its three group games and got to the precipice of a national title. Bee certainly did her part.

D Eva Papista, Nationals Union U16: En route to their stirring national title, the Nationals Union defense was a virtual steel trap. Papista was the unflinching heart of that effort as the team’s fiery center back leader. Papista’s range was notable, but her ability to step into challenges and break up dangerous moments was clear. There’s a reason NU managed a national title behind four shutouts in five games, including the 5-0 win in the finale.

M Ashlynn Serepca, Carolina Rapids U20: There wasn’t a more highly recruited player in Frisco than Serepca, who had her pick of schools for 2018 and chose DI juggernaut Virginia. Playing up in a division that featured college players, Serepca dominated throughout as a sort of dipping, do-everything forward/midfielder hybrid. Serepca was a preeminent force, scoring in the finale to help her side to a national title.

M Lauren Bastian, CUP U15: True creative engines like Bastian don’t come around all that often. CUP’s U15 team had a heck of a tournament for a variety of reasons, but pinpointing Bastian’s fluid movement and creative impetus as the single biggest wouldn’t be out of line. Her three goals was second in the U15 division only to teammate Kailyn Dudkovich, and the Cincinnati commit was even more influential in how she stoked the build-up. One to watch.

So much competition and talent that Cups STUD U-15 team is breaking up. Now that is a head scratcher for sure.

Is it a head scratcher considering the major change the club is making? My son, who plays for CUP, is now only playing with half the players from last year's team and no one is surprised by that. There is now just 3 of them left from when they were 5 and playing in the CU juniors program.

If the National League was all that, why leave? Just proves one thing, like I have said from the beginning, the ECNL is the major leagues of soccer. Yet we get the swinging ***** on yappi saying otherwise. Player movement proves me correct. Now we see how the DA develops. National league is like the Warrior Cup or Mead Cup use to be.

Yeah, that's the ticket. Looks like Puppy burnt his STUDS out. Great coaching job. An easy title and he threw it all away. Now the STUDS bail.

the USYSA statement is aspirational. I have a daughter on the U15 Gold 02. The topic of competition was a frequent one on the sidelines. Objectively the USYSA league/nationals is no competition to ECNL. The only competition that this team faced was in the final 4 of Nationals with the exception of Arsenal in pool play. Go look at the scores. The only team in USYSA competition we lost to was Nationals Union and they combined 3 clubs. and they are good.

Up until this year with the DA we all wondered how we were going to get competition.

Take a look at MRL after U15 and you'll see one pool. CUP dominated National Leagues rarely losing which means very little competition.

ECNL has better depth top to bottom.

Feel free to argue but I lived it with two age groups.

A little perspective. No one is burnt out. The introduction of the DA program brought in the HS/No HS decision. The fact was that many girls had already been kicking tires at OE. It was apparent that the team was becoming a way to showcase the coach and a few players.

The DA team was set long before assessments. The fact is that KHA told their players that they had to have at least 4 on each team. The 01/02 team has only 2 as everyone turned them down. The rest of the roster was divided equally between 01 and 02. It wasn't about the best team. EVERY 02 parent has commented that the DA team will be worse than the Cup 02 team. So have some 01 parents.

Pulling in another topic - ODP.
It is all about numbers and politics. CUP has a huge influence on ODP selections. I know one girl on the team that was not selected for ODP Regional camp and her father was told by regional leadership that it was due to coaches not wanting too many girls from same team on the roster. All numbers. This translates all around. The same thing happened for all region teams ODP as one coach was told to pull a player from top field of play because a deal was made.

Several DoCs said it was OK to participate in ODP if you had a little extra cash and were accepting of politics. Just know the deal if you are signing up.

Great to see this thread go to a ECNL OE chest thumping. SMDH How about congratulations, great job, or something positive. Did little Susie not make the team she wanted?
