What do you think of Senior All-Star games?

Just curious what everyone thinks of the Senior All-Star games?

As a kid, I really enjoyed them. The one thing that I do like is if the game is competitive...meaning it's not all goofing around. I don't want anyone hurt but it's also a football game that might be someone's last chance to put on the football gear.

The other thing that I prefer is that it be well-defined teams. League based, county based, North/South, East/West or something else where the teams are divided by predefined rules, even if it means one team has more talent some years.

Cool for kids not going to the next level. Pointless for kids who are.

Kids enjoy them, whether they are going to play at the next level or not. The game is about the kids, so if they enjoy them, keep having them.

The all star games are fun. You can get hurt just by doing drills, so I think that's a excuse that kids use today.

Been to a few over the years just to support former players but overall I am not a fan. May be fun for the kids but I really have little interest watching a game with players who hadn't played for 6 plus months and little practice together. Other than a so called Bragging point for parents to say their kid played in an all star game they are poi ntless

As a fan, I enjoy them. I give props to those men who come back to play in them.

In today's world, there's significant early enrollment in college that is taking that away. You've got the early graduations where kids start school in January (semester) or April (quarter). Then, even more now is kids that start taking classes in the summer term, so they're in college at the time the all-star game is being played.

If I were a college coach, I would forbid my recruits from playing in such games.

Used to enjoy watching the Big 33 game, both teams really got after it as it was more than just another All - Star game. Remember 1 year when Pennsylvania rallied late to win, several Ohio players were so distraught they were brought to tears on the sideline. Than some of the best players started to enroll early to college and the game lost some of its luster, plus Penn decided to play another state than Ohio in the Big 33 game. Also the WBL vs. NWC-MAC All Star game had some luster when it 1st started however the MAC dropped out of it as it is now the WBL vs. NWC game. Do not know if they even still play it.

They are fun to watch but are often mired with fights at the end once the game is decided. The coaches have no real control over the players since they are adults who have graduated. It is a shame.
