know it’s sort of putting the cart before the horse, but who would the winner of this game face assuming the other regional winners are TCC and Hartley? Obviously from a geographical standpoint it won’t be Trotwood...

The winner of this game gets the winner of Hartley-Tri-Valley. Note: I would not presume that Hartley will win that game. They are the favorite, but TV will be a tough out.

Traditionally, TCC and Trotwood have been matched up in the semis under similar circumstances, probably since I-75 makes for easy travel and access for both schools and fan bases to Lima or Sidney.

I don't think they'd ever admit it, but OHSAA maintains the right to set the brackets when it is down to four so that they can set up a certain anticipated final game.

The rumor is they did that in 2013 with D3. STVM was going to match up against TCC (w/ DeShone Kizer) in the state semis. OHSAA was supposed to have changed that so there could be a possible STVM-TCC final. Unfortunately for TCC, they got knocked off by Clyde, I believe, in the regional final. Again, I'm not sure if that story is true or apocryphal, but it was bandied about back then.

No-one in the state would have beaten svsm in 13.

I think you could also make that argument for the 2012 team. An unimpressive Moeller beat and unimpressive Whitmer in the D1 final that year.

Hoping for a Canfield victory. If they face Hartley I’d expect the game to be in Wooster or Ashland area? If they face Tri-Valley I’d almost think Massillon would be a shoe in for that game.

True but the 2012 team didn't peak until late in the season with that huge QB and all the talent around him. The 2013 team had one of the best high school defenses I've seen in person.

Definitely true. They expected us (Trotwood) to lose to TCC that year and wanted that's St.V vs TCC final. However TCC losing to Clyde messed that up. I still don't know how that happened because Clyde wasn't good IMO. 🤷🏾♂️

Good Luck Cardinals!!! Represent the Mahoning Valley well. It would be nice to have both Canfield and South Range in the state semi's!

I don't want to seem like I am nit-picking, but the correct name is Reilly Stadium. The stadium and adjoining Reilly Elementary School were built using funds from the estate of Civil War Union General James W. Reilly. (This has been your Yappi history lesson of the day)

Looks like a great stadium. With the number of fans that StV brought last week, I'm guessing their fans are going to want to get there early or they will be on the homeside or standing.

With Salem only being a 10-20 minute drive for many of the Canfield fans, I would expect a very good turnout. So the home side may be full as well depending on if the cold/inclimate weather keeps people away or not.
Does anyone have the attendance numbers for Canfield for week 11 or 12?

I know I watched SVSM play my team (Tri Valley) in week 1and their rb is the real deal. It was hard to believe he is only a Sophmore. Their QB also looked extremely talented. They have only improved since then and I expect them to pull out a close one this week against a talented Canfield squad. Definitely the best time of year, especially when your team is still playing. Good luck to both SVSM and Canfield. And GO DAWGS!! Beat Hartley!!

Thank you. All I have seen so far on the TV/Hartley game is running clock predictions. We may not have the pedigree of say an SVSM, Trotwood, or Hartley, but we have a very good football program and have been to the playoffs 10 times in the last 11 years. It's nice to hear some complimentary comments from a perennial state title threats' fans.
