[QUOTE=getridofspam1;6906939]How is this fair to D1 schools? I'm not an Ed's fan or whoever might win it this year but you are potentially taking away a state title from some kids. What about that kid who has worked his butt off to make the lineup in his senior year for St Eds? They are favored to win it and then all of sudden Graham bumps up this year and takes away that title. Next year they don't think they can win it and stay at D2. Any kid in that situation is screwed. What about a team like Lasalle who has a once in a lifetime team with all of the stars aligning and a chance to win it all. Now Graham comes up and takes away the only chance in school history of them winning a title and they finish 2nd.

Uhhh, welcome to what D2 has been dealing with the last 12-15 years. All these D1 teams claim to be the "best" because they're D1, well, time to put your money where your mouth is. Glad to see another team in D2 get a chance to win their State Title. Sorry, don't feel bad for a team like St. Ed's. They're a private school who can bring in the best of the best, while the public schools have to work with the kids who live in the school district.

I don't think anyone will feel sorry for St. Ed's or anyone else. FYI, the publics acquire the best talent as well. Just ask Brecksville, Elyria or OLB just to name a few.

SPG is moving up because they know they have one of the top 3 teams in the country. When Jordan leaves next year and they will not be a top 5 team, we will see where they wrestle. IF Jordan leaves SPG, the dynasty will come to a very quick end.

What is the cost of tuition at ST Paris Graham High School??

Do they offer full ride scholarships to Wrestlers?

Also do they have a mandatory red shirt in 8th grade to be eligible for said scholarship?

Keep the line tight and do not give them any slack boys!

That was a great line! You will be spending less now that it's wrestling time.

... did some research on "Saint Paris", also known as "Paris of Teano"----he was famous for killing a dragon near a spring, which could very well be the Mad River.....he was ordained by Pope Sylvester- - - everyone knows Jordan can be pretty "Sly" .... so with all of that factual information at hand, JJ can be known as "Sly-the Dragon Slayer of the Mad River"....the Falcons have slain many "Dragons" and "Eagles" over the years.....

$15 to go to Graham? what about the cost of recruiting and moving the whole family into the district. why would graham jeopardize their win streak by going div 1.

Graham should have to compete in the "Transfer in" division. They have had more wrestlers travel farther to transfer in than St Ed's ...who is supposed to get transfers

The crocodile tears are flowing! With all the transfers, should Genoa go D2? Could they compete?

Jordan has had his share of HEAVY weight cutters, transfers etc. He could NEVER have competed with Ed's or Blair had he not have used his camps for getting Transfers, give any coach those same benefits and he'll do as well.

Eric Burnett is the BEST coach going right now , ALMOST EVERY one of his guys HOMEGROWN.

Burnett is an excellent coach, no doubt. But Elyria gets its share of transfers.

Vough is from Oberlin, for example.

We can start naming Transfers from each team....Graham is the KING of transfers no one else public is even close in Ohio, maybe Massillon Perry is second.

If it was all about coaching ....imagine what a great coach compared to Jordan Zahid Valencia must have.

Not "transfers", but open enrollees.

Who was the last REAL transfer for Graham?

Dawson Show? Before that, Blake Kastl in 2011/2012? Both came from out of state (NM and Cali)

Wasn't Alex Marinelli from Miamisburg?

Maybe its all in what your definition of "transfer" is. I'm using it as a general antonym for the concept of "home grown" introduced above.

I don't hate them at all, just being realistic understanding why they have been able to compete with the St Eds..and Blairs the last decade or more, that wasn't happening before the transfers ( Out of state or in state transfers both count) . People that don't have a dog in the fight understand that reality

OK, so is someone saying that Graham's coach Jordan is going to retire after this year because his youngest is a senior?

My definition is when a wrestler STARTS high school at School A and then transfers to School B. Graham doesn't get many of those.

I actually think Graham has lost more kids than they have gained (Ohmneiss to TC, Lawson's to O-Lib, Tucker Armstrong, Felipe Martinez)

Exactly every single starter on this year's Graham's team attended Graham middle school I believe, so by my definition and yours they don't have any transfers. And it's probably been since Blake Kastl since they've had a real "transfer". Also add in Tanner Smith who was an Ironman placer for them his freshman year or guys like Alex Isbrandt, Zane Strubler, and Graham Shore who wresteled for Graham middle school who didn't ever wrestle for the high school.

No because there's a difference. If you're running from competition and you're butt hurt cause you're getting beat then that's being a poor sport. But if you're moving up to face better competition and get tougher matches then that's called being competitive. And that's what Graham is and always has been. They have a GREAT program under a very smart and talented head coach. They are good enough to compete in D1. Only thing that is separating them from being D1 is the number of students they have at their school.
