D1 Cincy Match Ups

Thoughts? Predictions?

#3 Mason vs. #5 St. Xavier
#1 Moeller vs. #13 Lakota East
#2 Anderson vs. #8 Sycamore
#4 Fairfield vs. #10 Loveland
#6 Lakota West vs. #9 Milford

Some good ones on Tuesday! Mason/St. X and Anderson/Sycamore are probably the two to watch.

My predictions

Mason 1 St. Xavier 0

Rematch from the regular season where St. X won 2-1. I like Mason solely because I don't think they lose to the same team twice.

Moeller 4 Lakota East 0

Moeller is just too good.

Anderson 1 Sycamore 0 (OT)

Both teams have a lot of scoring threats. It's going to come down to who can defend better. I like Anderson's back line.

Fairfield 1 Loveland 0

If Loveland can score on Fairfield this will be a game. IF is the key there.

Lakota West 3 Milford 0

Eberle will score all 3 goals.

Mason 2 St X 1

Moeller 3 Lakota East 0

Anderson 2 Sycamore 1
Would like the upset but Anderson is a better defensive team and Sycamore just
Is too inconsistent.

Fairfield 2 Loveland 0

Lakota West 4 Milford 1

St X: 2
Mason: 1
X gets the W they thought they’d get during the tourney drawl

Moeller: 3
Lakota East: 1

Sycamore: 3
Anderson: 2
Sycamore seems to be getting it together at the right time....don’t think Anderson’s played a team nearly as talented as Sycamore since the Labor Day time frame. Should be a great game.

Fairfield: 1
Loveland: 0

Lakota West: 4
Milford: 1

Mason 2 St X 1 Coin toss. If Mason can get an early goal.

Moeller 2 Lakota East 1 - a lot closer than many think but Moe finds a way to win

Anderson 1 Sycamore 2. Sycamore pulls the upset

Fairfield 1 Loveland 0 Fairfield wins another close one.

Lakota West 3 Milford 1

Going to be interesting to see how Anderson plays against Sycamore. Have not had a tough game since Oct 5th.

Walnut Hills??? Respect to Turpin as they had a good season but Anderson has not played a team as talented as Sycamore since August when they lost to Moeller.... the only 2 teams they played during the regular season on that same level are Moe and StX (they went 1-1). Should be a great game as both teams are very good.

I would agree with this statement. However, Turpin is a team that beat Lakota West and Fairfield, so I wouldn't completed overlook them.

The Anderson/Sycamore game will probably come down to which team can minimize the amount of goals they allow. I'm wondering how weather will affect tomorrow's games as well.

I heard that Fairfield sat out some starters during the Turpin game including - goalie and goal scorer... at this point any of these teams can pull the upset.

Those were good wins for Turpin so take nothing away from those Ws and their impressive record but Iím not shocked that they got beat this past weekend. Fairfield didnít play them at full strength....Their long throw ins were their greatest offensive asset and they werenít very dangerous outside of the ball rolling out of bounds.

Sycamore has a lot of offensive talent ....Reynolds should match up well with Andersonís strong defenders. I think the big question is....Will they be able to stop Andersonís offensive attack.

Sycamore is going to control the midfield. If they score just 1 goal. Anderson is going to be in deep weeds.

The speed of play is going to be radically different too, Anderson haven't seen it since X.

I've heard Anderson has an international transfer who looks to be the leading scorer in the league, but haven't seen them play.

If i were Sycamore coach I would be worried about a mistake or too much dribbling leading to a counter attack for Anderson.

True but all teams experience one off night throughout the season....they beat WH who finished above Milford in the ECC. Think #10, #13 and Crew will score a few more than 2 tonight.

Some good ones on Tuesday! Mason/St. X and Anderson/Sycamore are probably the two to watch.
Mason 3 St. Xavier 1 - Time for Mason to go off

Moeller 3 Lakota East 2 - Close game, Moeller scores late

Anderson 2 Sycamore 1 - Anderson schedule has been weak, but they know how to win.

Fairfield 2 Loveland 0 - Fairfield may be the best team in Cincy

Lakota West 2 Milford 1 - Lakota West attack is too good for the milford D

Like SWOhioRiverbat said. Anderson didn't play the toughest schedule this season but they know how to get results, grind it out, and get the job done. Just win baby.

Maybe, just maybe, projecting conference/schedule strength based upon previous seasons isn't a great idea? Could easily be argued that the ECC was a stronger conference than the GMC this season, despite the constant crying about Anderson's regular season schedule.

Lol! Win a big game and completely lose our minds? Alright. The ECC is now a power conference....lol

Just watch out for the GCL after Sectionals.

The GMC champions just got blown out by an ECC team for the 2nd time this year. Neither of those two teams were the ECC champs. Also, I never called the ECC a power conference. I'm just saying if the ECC supposedly isn't any good, than the GMC sure as hell isn't either. The results speak for themselves. But at least you still have your unearned sense of superiority, right?

Unearned? Might wanna string together a couple seasons bub. And you've got Carroll to concentrate on. They're former D2... Right up your ally.

Yes, unearned. Past strength has absolutely no bearing on current strength. Unfortunately for you, talented Mason teams of the past couldn't help you advance in the 2017 playoffs. If they could, perhaps that anemic attack may have been able to actually score a goal against St. X and avoided getting sent home early. For now, enjoy watching the Redskins and their ECC brethren Loveland move on. Pretty good for such a terrible conference, huh? Also, bringing up the former D2 thing should be embarrassing for you. All those students and you can't even put 11 on the field better than what these former D2 schools can? Pretty pathetic honestly.

Beavercreek, Carroll, Anderson, Moeller, St. X

As much as I love a good Cinderella story, I think I might love a bloodbath among the elite even more. The upper tier is still absolutely loaded in the region. Going to be a great show to see who makes it to state.

Beavercreek is still the favorite. Love that Moeller, Anderson and Carroll are still alive.
