It's either Alabama or Georgia, not both. The SEC East is garbage. They will both play each other in the SEC championship. One will lose and should not advance. However, many sports analysts don't see it that way.

The scenario for both getting in, IMO:

1. Both teams are Top 3
2. Both teams are undefeated
3. Georgia beats Alabama in SEC CG
4. There are no undefeated teams that would be left out.

2. Clemson

4. Ohio State

Ohio State needs to win out, obviously. If it comes down to tOSU and OU for the 4th spot, the Buckeyes will most likely be on the outside looking in. The playoff committee has done some weird things, but when teams have identical records and one beat the other, you would think that would be an easy decision for them.

I think Clemson will rebound well and win out. Their schedule is favorable, and as long as their QB gets healthy I think they take care of business.

Alabama is Alabama...and the SEC is also not very great, so they won't face a challenge until Georgia in the SEC championship game. IF they lose to Georgia, I would think they are out. Just look at their schedule. They would not have very many big wins.

I'd be very shocked if both Clemson and Miami make it, especially since Clemson lost to Syracuse.

If OSU & Clemson win out, I'd think OSU would have the higher seed. They'd have a "better" loss by far(OU vs Cuse) and PSU would be a better win than anything on Clemson's schedule. Could see something like

1 - Alabama
2 - OU
3 - OSU
4 - Clemson

You'd have the added bonus of two rematches with a ton of bad blood which = ratings, if you believe the committee thinks about that sort of thing.

If they're both undefeated, unless Alabama were to be blown out there's not much chance the committee doesn't pick them, IMO.

They have two tough home games back-to-back against Virginia Tech and ND coming up. They might get caught looking ahead at UNC next week.

At least they've won some big games the last decade or so. The U hasn't done anything since that Fiesta Bowl loss to OSU.

It would be very interesting to see what the committee does with ND if they win out.

The PAC 12 is out of the running at this point and the Big 12 is hanging on by a thread. Playoff as of now should be

Bama
PSU
UGA
ND

OSU, TCU, Clemson, Oklahoma are the next tier.

I know Wisconsin is unbeaten, but they remind me of the Iowa team from a few years ago... they've beaten nobody. Michigan sucks this year and beating them at home would be their only notable win. They skip the other ranked B10 teams until the Conference Title.

I just don't see the committee allowing 2 SEC teams into this thing, especially if it means keeping a big name team that wins a conference title with 1 loss. My best guess at this time. would be the following>

Bama
Penn State
TCU
Clemson

True, they seem to treat this as more of a science than art. I think Clemson loses to GT if Bryant isn't back at QB. I think TCU will lose to Oklahoma, but don't be surprised if they fall to Iowa St this week.

Whomever wins the Penn St/OSU game should be 2nd. I could see OSU winning that game, as they'll be able to limit Barkley with that DL.
