What's up with Bobinski? It doesn't seem he's played in either of the scrimmages, unless I missed it. Are they just holding him back for the regular season, or is he dealing with some sort of injury?

As a matter of policy, Ignatius fans do not discuss possile injuries to their players.

Someone didn't get the memo then. Ignatius grandparents and parents told us that Bobinski had a foot injury at last scrimmage.

Alexander played the 2nd quarter vs the Pups and the offense scored 2 FGs

I assume Hall played the 3rd quarter and neither team scored

In Ignatius' offensive scheme, it appears they all have to be dual threat.
They all are taller than 6 foot.
We'll soon find out what their strengths are.
Kyle Hall started the scrimmage at QB, Alexander played the second quarter and Delahunty started the third.

Isn't it usually a little clearer who the starting QB is by now at QB Central High?

Then the student announcers on SIBN were wrong.
Check the video posted on the Ignatius athletics website

I recognize that none of the players were wearing their game jersey/number, but wouldn't the kids (and moderator) calling the game know who's who?

I should have more correctly stated that Ignatius fans do not discuss injuries on Yappi. Obviously we can't control what relatives have to say, but if you already knew why did you ask? And please spell the name of the school correctly.

Cleveland.com has the Wildcats in the #1 spot. Should be the clear favorite to reach the finals yet again. I don't see who can beat them up North.

Is that a sign of how good Ignatius is or how down you think the other top challengers (namely Eds and Mentor) are?

PD writers know nothing about hs football, and care even less. The ranking is totally about last year's success. You can't lose as much talent on defense and be anywhere near where they were last year. PD high school coverage has been dismal for several years. All they can write about is Browns and Buckeyes.

I apologize for the misspelling. I have corrected. I only knew what I was told and was asking to see if anyone else had knowledge of the injury.

Thanks for the vote of confidence.

St. Edward has more upside in my eyes, but Ignatius' offensive line, run game and secondary are strong. I wouldn't be shocked if the Wildcats start 0-2, but they are on the road against two teams in the top six. I think that speaks of the area's strength, to answer a previous question.

While some may be impressed by the wide net that Cleveland dot com is trying to cast, a closer look reveals watered down coverage that seems to rely more on other people's twitter accounts then any actual legwork. Sure, they can rattle off the names of a few guys who have big time offers. But in the words of shania twain, that don't impress me much.

Wildcat roster is posted

8 sophomores listed on the varsity roster. I think that's more than ever before in the Kyle era

Yeah I can't recall there ever being that many sophomores in the past. Looks like there is good size in that class. Lockett was great in the game and a half he played as a freshman before an injury took him out for the season.

Hoban has a roster posted as well. They have a lot of size - I think the Cats may be the smaller team in this one. It will be a tall order on Thursday as the Knights return a ton of experienced D1 talent. I saw the highlights of their scrimmage with Louisville and the TB and both lines were very impressive. They have a couple D1 receivers but the passing game didn't look that great. They are starting a freshman (!!!) at QB. Hell of a game to kick off your HS career.

Perhaps 1991 (Class of 1994) ??? Quick look show 2 sophs over 250 lbs. I still keep it below 250

Hall very mobile, runs the 400 in track and is quick for such a tall guy. Used to play basketball as well.

Alexander can run if needed, but is much more comfortable as a passer. I believe ESPN would classify him as a "pro-style" QB. Strong arm, probably thanks to playing baseball.

I have heard that they might be toying with using both, at least at the beginning of the season. I know they did something similar to that when they played freshman ball.

Man I hope they don't use two QBs. You know the expression, if you play 2, it means you don't have one.

No bearing on tomorrow's game, Hoban 34-0 over Ignatius freshman tonight. I am sure IGGY has 2-3 freshman teams so who knows who played. Good luck to the Wildcats tomorrow night at Dowd field. Hoping for a great game and turnout. Weather looks to be perfect.

Last year they had two (gold / blue) teams. I don't believe they did that again this season. I would think Hoban would be an A team game regardless.

Agreed DB, I don't think when they scheduled Hoban they thought it was one of there tougher games. I think they scheduled them thinking Hoban would win 8 or 9 games for them and get them a bunch of playoff points.

AYK. Hoban will be one of the toughest games of the year. They might be one of the top 3 teams in the state at any level.

Ummm, Hoban is (has been - don't know about 2017) a top 10-15 team in Ohio, regardless of division the last 2 years.

I think we're better than Euclid, Canada North-Clarkson, Glen Oak and in the same general class as Mentor, Detroit Central Catholic, Elder, Moeller, Xavier and Ed's - all of whom have far more students than Hoban. Not saying 'better than', but at least 'in the vicinity of'.

Last year Ignatius played Normandy, Valley Forge, Parma and Walsh Jesuit who combined for a 7-33 record.
