I really can't believe West could not find a way to get a teacher/coach in the building at a school that size. Guess time will tell what kind of hire this was, but I tend to agree with RetiredCoach, a younger up and comer would have been for exciting to me than a guy who had most of his success in the 80s and early 90s. Of course Rooks was a young up and comer and that didn't work out too well.

What D1 jobs are still open in SWO? Lebanon? Anyone hearing anything about their search?

Neither of those things are that simple to accomplish unless you are a bigger district and/or have a healthy financial situation. Even that's not necessarily a guarantee as size and wealth generally equals low turnover and limited job openings outside of retirements and relocations.

If you are cash strapped and/or have an operating levy on the ballot, you can pretty much forget about convincing your community that you really need additional funds when you're creating jobs to get coaches in the building.

It can be a bit complex within the district with teaching/coaching positions. Also I am not sure how many young qualified candidates are out there.

I have not been around in a couple of weeks. Where did Lebanon’s coach go?

I agree with you J that handling the attitudes of the star returning players/parents for their senior year will be his biggest challenge--always wondered why Higgins didn't get the St. X job to replace Martin 3 years ago.
If the players buy in to what Higgins brings to the table, that could be a fun, exciting team to watch.
