How in the world is Miami Trace ranked in the D2 boys poll?

Kind of an embarrassing look for the voters that they don’t bother to look at that team beyond its Milesplit PRs, which are all from the same Week 1 meet that must have been way short of a 5k.

The fact that they are ranked ahead of Salem is comical. Thanks, OATCCC!

For sure, but if you’re going to bother to do rankings, you may as well make them as accurate as possible.

Are the voters so lazy that they just do a Milesplit virtual meet of all the teams in a given division and submit the top 20 as their rankings? I just see no way to justify Miami Trace’s inclusion in the poll whatsoever, and I’m sure there are other examples of this as well.

The OATCCC is seriously trying to tell us that that is the 17th best XC team in boys division 2?!? Ahead of Salem?!?

Wait, What?! Salem is ranked in the top 20? Something IS wrong. Kind of cute that Bay is ahead of Woodridge. Good for them.

To be fair to voters. At this point of the season, it's very difficult after #10. There is such a drop off from the top 7 or 8 to 16-20. At that point, Milesplit PR's is sort of at least an educated guess. I guess.
