Wonder if Fox will eventually shut down/sell FS1 and it's rights so they can get out of sports completely. I don't think FS1 is anywhere close to profitable.

Sadly, sports have got away from reporting the "games" and they report on the personalities or the favorite national teams. Sports shows care more about what Lavar Ball is doing than anything on the floor or the field. Some of the more talked about "sports" stories the last few months...
-Jerry Jones - his feud with Roger Goddell, his stance on the Anthem
-Ezekiel Elliott - domestic abuse
(of course, both of these are Cowboys stories, so we get alot of the news on the Cowboys, weather good or bad)
-Lavar Ball and the Ball family
-Colin Kaepernik (he has not played an NFL game all season)
-concussions, CTE's of course during football season

Other than the CTE/concussion issue, you have posted about all of those issues. In fact I'd say you spent a significant amount of time on each of those 4 issues.

I was just going to say, 14red is the poster most obsessed with all those issues, starting threads on all of them. They basically consume his thoughts on sports and definitely shape his rooting interests. To the extent that he hates on Lonzo Ball, an otherwise unassuming and likable young man, because he is obsessed with hating his daddy.

One positive from this is that it forces ESPN to cover hockey again because they'll be airing the games on their RSN's. I'm probably the only one on here who gives a damn about that but whatever.
Wonder what the timeline will be on the switchover from Fox Sports to ESPN RSNs, and what content ESPN is going to put on them. Probably unlikely that it'll be done by the start of NBA/NHL season next October.

Wrong again Taco, I've posted a little on Elliott, very little to none on Jones, and yes, some on the Balls. I would much rather hear about the games though.
Now, onto CTE's....
I'd just like to hear from anyone who has played football that didn't understand the risks of running full speed into other people and getting hit from all directions? This whole thing is more about money than anything else.

The following is from the last 45 days. There are more from before 11/01/2017. I did not include any posts where you mentioned the actual game play of basketball when discussing Lonzo/Lavar/the brothers:

Lonzo is a D-League player because he can't shoot and doesn't seem to care, and his brothers are average at best college and high school players.

I mean he's actually getting paid to play basketball and he's way out of his league?

What and absolute screwball LeVar Ball is. He's now taking his son at UCLA and pulling him out of school. Going overseas to "get him ready" for the NBA draft. Remember this is the kid who got nailed shoplifting in China. Gotta believe UCLA coach Steve Alford is the happiest man on earth today.

Who's in court, what and NFL owner thinks or feels and especially social issues are things we don't care about. The issue is the NFL is a 17 week season that games only occur once a week. You can't fill 24 hour news cycles with just game info, so these things get legs.

Something as important as domestic violence is being batted around in a courtroom for playing time for a football player???

I mean, somebody has to be the bad guy and dole out the punishment. On one hand we want the game to be safer, but we don't want our favorite teams players to get suspended.
As for the draft, who else would announce the draftees? Doesn't the commissioner make sense?

I can't imagine this just going away and Zeke not serving anything.

Sorry dude, have not watched hockey in years and years and years. Althogh I do give the NHL credit. They saw years ago that they had an unsustainable model and really ratcheted back the salaries. They stayed in their lanes.

It's his go to play. Always ignore the evidence in front of you especially if it proves you wrong.

Anyone care to guess when the SI/NYT/WaPo story detailing Skipper's past transgressions with female subordinates will be published? My guess is this afternoon.
