Stow Coach Leaving.
Heard Mark Nori(SP) might be leaving Stow HS to become Head Coach at the new Olentangy Berlin HS. Anybody know for sure. This guy is a great Coach. Could be big loss for Stow.

The timing seems right
Multiple year playoff run after a rebuild. What does next year look like for Stow, would it be a rebuild or reload for Nori?

I am hearing the same. There is a good staff in place, wonder if both coordinators will try to claim the job.

That's a shame for Stow, however, it isn't a great surprise.

Would Ron Wright formerly of Hudson be top candidate? He lives in area, son attended Stow.

Bingo. That's what I was thinking. He's still teaching at Hudson and has indicated he'd like to get back into coaching.

Connection is there. His son graduated last year from Stow. He would be the ideal hire if they can get him.

I'd heard he was in the running last year. Quick turnaround at Walsh.

I would think Geiss (sp?) from rootstown would be a front runner if he applied. I have also heard rumors of Ron Viscounte getting serious consideration.

Mark Nori is a good man. Good luck to him with his new position. He's leaving some large shoes behind for his successor to fill!

Nori is a great coach. I have heard they will replace him from within the program.

Interviews start up very soon and they plan to act quickly to get the new coach up to speed ASAP.

Clark,
Have you heard who is or has applied for the job? Coach Nori did a nice job at Stow and who ever takes over should be in good shape. Nori left the Stow better than what he found it, although the person who gets the job has big shoes to fill.

Any of the top assistants already in the building at Stow? That might give them a leg up depending on if Stow has any teaching openings.

The AD said that they are going to post the job and take applications and no decision has been made whether or not the hire will be from inside the program or not.

I hear that applications are pouring in to Stow for the job. They hope to get through everything and have a candidate to put before the school board at their late February meeting.

I wonder if Geis from Rootstown will apply. He is a very good coach. Completely revamped Rootstown’s program.

I’m hearing between 100-150 applications are expected.

Maybe they can send some of the applications over to the neighbor at Kent. No word on a coach yet?

Not surprised... their recent success is proof to a coach that they can win and that the community is loyal and supportive. The trick is to find the guy who can win and stay long-term.

I agree. They will owe the new coach some facilities upgrades if they would like that to be the case. Additional seating and bathrooms needed as well as a new fieldhouse and locker rooms.
