Any updates from Field or Springfield? It has been very quiet.

Curious about Field as well. Did he resign or was he let go? I know this was his first year.

I’m sure it’s tough for Vaughn to double as AD/Head Coach.

When did Vaughn resign? That has too be a tough job working as an AD as well as a head coach. He is a good guy, good luck to him moving forward!

Same question. I haven't seen or heard anything about him stepping down and I don't see anything posted.

Regarding Springfield: I am hearing multiple things.
1. Vaughn is stepping down to spend more time with his family. Yada, yada, yada
2. Vaughn is stepping down because he feels he's maxed out as what he can do for the program. Yada, yada, yada
3. The school board wants to go in a different direction and requested that Vaughn step down. But he will stay as AD at Springfield. (Apparently the school board has been putting heat on Vaughn for a couple of years now. Vaughn told them they would be no worse than 8-2 this past season. Didn't quite turn out that way lol. Board finally had enough).

Hmmmmmmm.

Springfield was always disciplined and played hard for Vaughn. They just don't have the talent to make any real noise. My guess is they will back to sub .500 football if he's done coaching.

Don't think Revere is going anywhere. As charter member of old Suburban they will stay. Ravenna could move but they struggle in PTC metro in many sports.

Ravenna is not going anywhere, they could not compete in the Suburban League, PTC is going to start looking for some new schools

I believe it is a package deal in the works of Ravenna and Kent Roosevelt to Suburban League. It all has to do with MONEY. Is it about anything else.

As far as I have heard Norton is open. Kent is open. Field is open. Springfield is open. Tallmadge needs some assistants. Stow open. Mogodore may need a DC if Dan Miller heads back home to wayne county. Will any of these openings cause moving coaches inside the PTC. Will there be another opening soon in the PTC???

Not from Coventry *knocks on wood*.

But no, I mean, Egan is not a perfect coach, I certainly have had my criticisms of him before. But reality is, no coach is perfect, and if they were, they would not be coaching at Coventry. But Egan does appear to have the qualities that Coventry needed, and I think Egan was a factor in our recent success. So I certainly hope he will stay.

The Geis move took me by surprise. Is the talent trending downhill at Rootstown in the immediate future? I saw them in the playoffs and thought they were very impressive but don't remember how many of those players were seniors.

Jonah Rosenblum of Record Courier released article online saying Rootstown’s Head Coach is taking over at Kent Roosevelt. Did a phenomenal job turning Rootstown around, wishing him best of luck!

It is just so bad in every sport. Why do some of these schools even offer sports if the kids do not take the time to get better?

One of the best conferences in the state for Cross Country and Track and Field. Woodridge alone has 7 state championships in the last 12 years in boys CC and the girls won in 2016. Cloverleaf, Crestwood, Field and Woodridge are consistent top ranked in the state in cross country. Streetsboro and Woodridge have had State Runners up teams in recent years in Track and Field. Garretsville have had top throwers in the state for years.
