What is Beaumont's state record? I doubt it is in sight. I remember it being one of the best relay records out there. I do not use Milesplit enough to pay for it so I cannot look up records beyond the top mark and they have a few erroneous marks that must've skipped a lap or had a timing error ahead of Beaumont. It would be great to see Beavercreek take a shot at it if possible.

The Ohio record for girls in the 4,000 DMR was 11:45.82, Cleveland Heights Beaumont (Nora Sennett, Shavonne Maclin, Kristen Joyner, Maggie Infeld), 6/15/2002, Raleigh, NC. Some meets run a 3200m DMR and not the standard 4000m DMR (1200, 400, 800, 1600). Beaumont was second at the AOC in 2002. Results are here: http://www.nationalscholastic.org/fi...OC_results.htm

Beavercreek girls won the Centerville Elk Relays this year in 11:57.41 https://oh.milesplit.com/articles/259620

As lancermania noted it's 11:45.82. Gahanna Lincoln gave it a helluva run at NBON last year and came up just short. Beavercreek should have an excellent chance at it, if not this week certainly in June when everyone is peaked.

I am thinking that the team with Radkewicz, the 800 girl from Adams, and two others were well under that. I am pretty sure those two split sub 4:50 and sub 2:10. The 1200 girl was a sub 5:05 miler and the 400 was a 57 girl. Running by yourself far in the lead is much different but I thought they ran in the 30's.
Maybe it was yards from nationals but I count the fastest especially if it is longer.

According to T&F News "High School Track 2019", the National Record for the 4000m DMR is 11:22.23 by Harvard-Westlake (Studio City, CA) set in 2011. 30th place is 11:42.85, so no Ohio teams appear in the top-30 all-time.

According to the last available information I have on the late Craig Whitmore's compilation of Ohio bests, they are the following:

3200m DMR - 9:29.0 - Upper Arlington (Barb Courtade, Amy Smurr, Cathy Chrissos, Carol Boyd) set on 4/26/1985 at Dayton. I haven't done any research on the relays to date, so this may have been improved since Whitmore's last listing in 2007 before he became ill.

4000m DMR
- 11:45.82 by Beaumont as indicated earlier in the thread.

Anything under a 12:00 is pretty darn good:

1200- 3:45- equates to a 5:00 mile
400- :60
800- 2:15
1600- 5:00
Total: 12:00

So to run an 11:40 you would need
1200- 3:40
400- :55
800- 2:10
1600- 4:55
*or I could see someone having
two stud milers who could go 3:35 and 4:45 and that would help a lot.

11:22 would be
3:35
:55
2:10
4:42
*and that is not counting the decimal places. That is flying...

It is the afternoon of the day
When the Creek girls want to say
They are the best ever in Ohio

Will they be able to drop from their winning time at Centerville of 11:57.41 to the sub 11:45.82 required to break the all time Ohio record in the Distance Medley (1200, 400, 800, 1600).

Conditions aren't too bad this afternoon. Currently 65 degrees in the Dayton area with scattered showers.

Current radar at 2:25pm. Movement of the system is to the Northeast. There might be a gap in the rain later - good for the meet. Throwers, BRING LOTS OF TOWELS!!!

I just don't see how the Creek girls can break 11:45. Roack can probably open the relay with a 1200 of sub 3:50 and Ewert can anchor with a sub 5:00 in the 1600. I just can't see that as enough. Those would be their two best legs in the relay. My prediction is "no". Ladies, prove me wrong.

Roark is scheduled to run the 3K 15 minutes before the DMR so it's highly unlikely she's in the relay

By rule members of accepted DMR teams cannot run in the relay if they are running 3,000 which would rule Roark out of the relay.

"Distance Medley Relay (1200-400-800-1600): Championship, Thursday, 6:20 PM; 15 teams (prize #6). Entries are from teams which have run 12:30 or faster in Carnival-approved indoor or outdoor meets this year prior to April 14. Teams may enter a “no time” and update the mark by noon, April 14. From these entries, approximately 15 teams will be selected based on meet performances prior to April 14. NOTE: Members of selected teams may not compete in Mile or 3000m. Acceptance of a team member in the Mile or 3000m may result in rejection of a Distance Medley team. Teams may not run in both the 4800 and Distance Medley. Coaches having a preference about contingencies involving entries in the Mile, 3000m, or the Distance Medley must include a note stating preferences when submitting their entries."

Solid 11:49.14 for Beavercreek in the DMR, taking 2nd. State record definitely there for them by NBON

Moving ahead of last year's Gahanna Lincoln for #2 all-time Ohio performance according to my quick compilation of sub-12's.

Anyone notice North Rockland's national mile record-holder Katelyn Tuohy dropping a 4:36.94 there in 6th place? What killed them was their 2:34 800m leg. Argh.

Question for FinishTiming:

Were times for each leg of the relays recorded by your equipment? I'm interested specifically to the girls' DMR.

I perfectly understand if that information hasn't been compiled as yet, if it was recorded, given the time constraints available in publishing results currently.

Any chance Roark can take down the city record of 9:36.25?

Boys' Triple Jump:

Olentangy Orange's Jaeschel Acheampong extends out to a nice 47' 7 1/2" jump for #5 All-Time Ohio, All-Conditions (no wind info for any of the TJ's at Wayne).

In the Cincinnati department, St. Xavier's Kellen Newman (44' 5") moves ahead of 1924's Olympic Long Jump Champion, William DeHart Hubbard (Walnut Hills) for #5 all-time in the Cincinnati area. FYI - Hubbard's 44' 4" HS triple jump came 98 YEARS AGO off of CINDER at Carson Field (UC) in 1921. Even more impressive than that is the #7 all-time Cincinnati listing of 44' 1 1/2" set by another Walnut Hills' alum, Ernest Diehl, in 1897!

Cincinnati City Record? Roark is from Beavercreek.

Dayton Area Record is 9:29.34 by Kristy Orre (Clayton Northmont), 1985.

We probably have the picture but since every runner does not wear a number then it is nearly impossible to do splits for those.
