One of the Greats Has Passed Away - Roberto Luigi Quercetani - Aged 97

https://www.iaaf.org/news/iaaf-news/...etani-obituary

For those not familiar with track & field statistics, Mr. Quercetani's name wouldn't mean much or anything to you. However, those who have delved with any depth into the subject will undoubtedly have come across Mr. Quercetani's name, if not his body of work. I won't go on about his history as the IAAF obituary aptly does, but what little I've read about him through other sources, the man was a true documentarian with regard to the sport of athletics, worldwide. As a now statistician myself, I look to this man's work as the gold standard. I've yet to acquire any of his books, but I hope to have them in my library someday in the future.

Hat's off to you, Mr. Quercetani!
